When Lauren told Anna she once had an abortion I wasn’t sure if it was Steven’s child as they were together for a while.

Steven is baby Abi's dad.
That poor soul ended up an orphan and was ( eventually) whisked away by Max to pastures new.

Baby Abbie is Steven's child, I think. I was surprised when Lauren said she had an abortion. Peter didn't look surprised, so presumably the baby was his.

I don't remember Lauren having an abortion tbh!

Didn't she say it wasn't Peter's? I don't think he was in the room when she was talking about it. Cindy was there and rolling her eyes.

I'm not sure whose baby she aborted , but she was seeing her cousin Joey at one stage so might have been his ? Not sure though

I thought it odd Bobby didn't get Julia's theme but then maybe him and Jane will return at some point. Remeber in the cotswolds Jane took a mysterious phone call? We all though it was Masood..

They might do something with that.

Years ago, Lauren was seeing Steven and it was his baby she aborted.

It really is odd that Cindy wails on about Lucy but never mentions Steven. Even Ian barely mentions Steven, he was apparently cannon fodder and no one cares.

Roland Manookian (Jumpers) is from Bermondsey which is SE. I don't think his accent is a problem, it's his delivery, to me it simply sounds like he is delivering a line rather than inhabiting the character. I have never seen him in anything else, but I am not impressed with him in EE.

Steven wasn't Ian's son though so I'm not surprised he doesn't mention him, especially given he was such a psycho!

Cindy, however, has no such excuse!

But didn't Ian say yesterday that he effectively 'was' Steven's father because no one else gave him the time of day? Steven's death seemed to be forgotten within days.

He can say all the 'right' words but he never meant them as Steven wasn't his son & his actions clearly showed that!

I felt sorry for Abby Branning when Steven died as she was having his baby and they were in love and it was a child that was actually wanted ( by her anyway )
I bet baby orphan Abi Branning will turn up on the square one day. Nobody will remember her back story but she is a Branning , so already legendary around those parts.

I'd completely forgotten about Abi's baby. So that's another family member that Ian and Cindy don't mention!

Baby Abi is Cindy's grand child. Max went off with her ( goodness knows where ) and yes, they never mention her. . I suppose Steven being such a bad boy means they are air brushing a lot of it ( maybe? ) but there are still children out there who are related to Ian and Cindy who they don't see much or talk about
Cindy did go and see Cindy junior and her child for a visit in Germany , but it was brief.
Cindy is Max's type, having an affair with him would be more believable than with junior , but no mention of a return for him
I do wonder if a few old faces might rock up next year though as forty is a big anniversary for them all.

I thought Max gave Baby Abi to Raine and the strange man she was with (Callum’s brother). Did he take her back?

Now I remember Raine and strange man had a baby but Bernie was the mother. I can’t remember how that came about.

All I can remember is Max going off with baby Abi somewhere. He decided to take her with him. It was during lockdown sometime.
Bernie had a baby that Rainie and Stuart wanted by a surrogate arrangement with them and she used the money to help Karen out I think? Although Stuart was recovering from breast cancer and yes, he was an odd bod!

I sort of melded Abi and the surrogate baby together, I knew Rainie ended up with a baby but not how. I really liked Rainie, she is such a good actress.

I hope we don't see a Max return, he was originally a good character but completely wrung dry and overstayed his welcome IMO.

Rainie ( Tanya franks ) was in 'Pulling ' and she is so funny in that. Similar character to Rainie

I didn't mind Max at first , but he was sleazy and the affair with Stacey was just hideous and then we discovered he had a secret wife , tried to sell on the Vic working for Weyland etc
All a bit of a nightmare.

You just know if Max ever does turn up, Stacey will go all wobble-lipped about him yet again.

This was when she was in NZ I’m guessing (off on her extended break, Jac Jossa).

Thanks for the heads up re orphan Branning baby, sadly too young (or is he/she too young?) to return yet?!

Talking of past characters, I’ve been watching Peacock and Jo Joyner (Tanya Branning is in that and is very funny in it too. Someone’s not been updating her Wiki page though as it’s not listed there…. It’d be great if she returned to the square but there’s no need really unless she wants to play grandma to Louie. I could see Tanya and Cindy either loving or hating each other, Kathy would have another relative to hate and spit bile at.

Yep her knickers will be off quicker than a flash of lightning. Will she have updated her black lingerie though? A bit boring for her I thought, should’ve been red.

I think that orphan Abi Branning must be about four ? Not sure where Max went with her either

I think Lauren might have had an abortion when she was with Steven in Walford, just before he had the affair with Abi?
