I spoke too soon, DS have unearthed a mole and Tasha has knocked out Pete in the DO. Confirmed from one of the DS reliable sources.

Sarah's vote obviously held up in the end: I was worried she was running out of goodwill.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 07/12/2024 22:54

From Digital Spy, Tasha and Alijaz v Pete and Jowita. Pete and Jowita emliminated.

KnottedTwine · 07/12/2024 22:55

I think that’s a fair result. Tasha won’t win next week, the ringers never do. It’s between the other three, would prefer jb or Sarah, but Chris will win.

Lentilweaver · 07/12/2024 22:57

Finally, thank heavens.
I was out so not yet watched, but I gather J.B was fantastic. So he won't win.

Mymanyellow · 07/12/2024 23:01

Phew! I was worried for Sarah.

BigJabroni · 07/12/2024 23:01

No way!!!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 07/12/2024 23:04

It IS a surprise in a way given how far he's come. I was wrong no Hollins 2.0! I think the four best dancers have made the final but Tasha I wouldn't have cared if she had gone though there was little chance of it.

Houseplanter · 07/12/2024 23:07

So pleased I was wrong! Agree the best dancers are through.. although Montell should have gone further.

BigJabroni · 07/12/2024 23:13

Yeah Tasha is no offence a bit of a nobody and like Montell wont have much of a following. Would rather have seen Pete in the final given he's a bit more of a celebrity. It stopped being a dancing competition many many moons ago so lets not pretend.

MouseMinge · 07/12/2024 23:15

That's such a relief.

The difference between Pete and Hollins is that Hollins did have a dance, I can't remember what it was now but possibly a Charleston that was really quite good and I think that nailed on the win for him. Pete hasn't had a dance. He's been competent to a lesser or greater degree but has done nothing that stands out as something approaching special. N.b. I had no time for Hollins at all and it was awful that he won but there was "a dance". I think. I could have made that all up. A bit like Ore with his Singing in the Rain. He was better than Hollins obviously, but that Singing in the Rain number made him the winner. It should have been Danny Mac!

BigJabroni · 07/12/2024 23:19

@MouseMinge how many dead nans did Hollins have?

Well, I would prefer to see 3 well performed dances by someone less popular, than 3 mediocre dances by someone who is "more of a celebrity".

Pete has done well to get this far and he upped his game this week. However, his dancing just doesn't belong in the final.

EvilRingahBitch · 07/12/2024 23:39

BigJabroni · 07/12/2024 23:19

Hollins didn't have nans, animals, or babies: instead he had Ola doing everything she possibly could to distract attention from him in a succession of revealing catsuits, but rather brilliantly combined that with a blokey jokey "we're just chums having a laugh and I literally hadn't noticed that she's a phenomenally attractive woman wearing practically nothing" attitude.

That said, he was a much better dancer than Pete. Don't get me wrong, RickyWozRobbed, but Chris Hollins wasn't bottom of the leaderboard until the semi finals (which was only 3 people), and he could dance his way out of a paper bag.

MouseMinge · 08/12/2024 00:34

Dead nanz and the rolling cast of children, pets, and sundry dead people who aren't nanz or grandadz is a more recent development but I wouldn't be able to pinpoint when it started easing its way into the series.

billysboy · 08/12/2024 06:48

Ola knew how to use her attributes

mydogisthebest · 08/12/2024 07:43

So glad Sarah is through. I was worried it would be her and Tasha in the dance off and then, obviously, the judges would keep Tasha.

Pretty sure Sarah won't win but at least she has made the final.

the80sweregreat · 08/12/2024 08:46

Poor Pete :(
Well done to the others

MassiveOvaryaction · 08/12/2024 09:23

Tbh I'm genuinely surprised Pete lasted as long as he did. He didn't belong in the final.

It was his Charleston! I loved it. Hollins very different from Pete though. He could dance and from a total beginner Ola worked wonders with him. The others were obviously better, especially Ricky, but he was still good by Pete standards.

Arconialiving · 08/12/2024 10:31

Chris Hollins Charleston was amazing & the first time ever I re-watched a dance multiple times! Plus I loved Ola, so I was very glad he won.

There's no comparison with Pete. Glad Pete is out.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/12/2024 11:00

I could not bear Chris Hollins on his run on the show, including his Charleston and still think he's the least deserving winner in the shows history

Arconialiving · 08/12/2024 11:06

I love these TV threads for the differing opinions & how people watch the exact same things & yet see / feel completely differently from one another!

BehindTheSequinsandStilettos · 08/12/2024 12:39

I loved the fact that Hollins addressed being a "deserved" winner in a show about Strictly a few years back (maybe one of the Covid specials?) he was being ribbed by two other contestants on a sofa and freely admitted he'd never get as far these days, as he did back then. He was refreshingly honest and happy to take the piss out of himself. Went up in my estimation just for that.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 08/12/2024 12:43

I actually loathed the man Sequins it was quite intense. Every week he got through enraged me. The only other contestant I hated as much was Smuggy Smugface Chambers. The original ringerdingdingerBlushGrin

Ricky Whittle, however (even though I can understand why he was upset) just sticks in my mind for being a sore loser. He wanted the viewers' votes to be released like X factor used to and stated that Chris had already been asked to do the tour early on in the competition and Ricky hadn't. 'Maybe they knew he was winning,' he said before complaining: 'I'd have snapped their arms off.'
