Welcome to the EastEnders spoilers thread, where we post and talk about any EE spoilers we've read about, including those in early release episodes on iPlayer.

Link below to watch episodes on BBC iPlayer - these are usually dropped at 6am on broadcast days - and you can also read brief synopses of upcoming episodes:

Interesting theory there @Anyonecanfallinlove but why would the detective cover for someone he barely knows and therefore risking his job and getting charged? I wouldn’t be too surprised if it happens, though.

The detective might be bent .. they don't like Dean do they ?

the80sweregreat · 04/09/2024 13:14

I can imagine Elaine in her silky tops visting the many prisoners and Linda with the kids! ' cheer up darlin' might never ' appen ' tinkling laugh
She doesn't seem to like her much , so she probably won't miss her around and the profits from her not drinking or throwing bottles about will go up

I think he has been around since the rape. He did seem to have a soft spot for Linda in a previous scene months ago. I think he knows how awful Dean is. He would also know Linda isn't a danger to society. Sometimes the jobs we do, people we see etc have an impact on how we view right and wrong, that is what he could be thinking

Anyonecanfallinlove · 04/09/2024 13:28

And also none of the detectives seem to be doing a good job, Sonia's story proves that

the80sweregreat · 04/09/2024 13:29

The copper might persuade L to tell him the full story , but then the other five will be in trouble.
What would any of us do ? Sharon wasn't in the room today , she would have stopped her I think.

Shellingbynight · 04/09/2024 15:22

When I was looking round the court room in Tuesday's episode I was hard pushed to see anyone who hadn’t committed a serious crime. 😆

Dean behaved so atrociously to the barrister that I’d have quite liked him to go down for a murder he didn’t commit. I would be surprised if Linda is the only woman he has raped (he did try it with Roxy too).

Poor Linda, waiting all those years only for Dean's confession to come at the ‘wrong time’. I loved her scenes with Phil.

I still can't see how this is going to pan out, because as others have said Linda can't have done it on her own. Surely she isn't going to implicate the other five? If she doesn't tell a coherent story about how she did it, they may not accept her story.

the80sweregreat · 04/09/2024 16:26

I bet that the poster below who mentioned the defective will be bent / and or very sympathetic at least and they will put Dean away for murder. I can't see how it will pan out otherwise as the other 5 might end up in jail too.
' eastenders , cell block H ' at this rate !
Then the musical.
At least they know people in there already

Southeastdweller · 04/09/2024 16:59

It will all end the story neatly in a way and mean that none of them go to prison (which would have been totally impractical logistically). He may stop the recording. But now that Dean's confessed the case is thrown because everyone knows Linda has a reason to lie (is it called a mistrial?). So nobody will go down for the killing.

OP posts:
Shellingbynight · 04/09/2024 17:05

Yes, a mistrial.

It was always going to be impossible to resolve because so many major characters were involved, they can't all go to jail!
They have made Dean extra despicable this week, I hope he gets several years for Linda's rape. It was odd he expected Jade to be sympathetic when he's been accused of tampering with her meds.

Shellingbynight · 04/09/2024 18:01

I haven't noticed this mentioned in previous posts, sorry if I'm repeating anything -
Ruby is returning later this year 'for a prolonged stint'.

The spoilers for next Monday say Chrissie returns to Walford and she's in the spoilers all week 'sending shockwaves' and 'causing drama'.

I mentioned it in a post this morning but it wasn't discussed by anyone.
I've heard she comes back with Martin's baby

the80sweregreat · 04/09/2024 18:08

I didn't mind Ruby , but she soon became annoying and Stacey ended up in prison because of her :(

the80sweregreat · 04/09/2024 18:09

Won't the police actually want to know who murdered Ken ?

Shellingbynight · 04/09/2024 18:28

@Anyonecanfallinlove
ah sorry, I missed that. We were all too busy thinking about Linda! I liked Ruby in her last stint, so it could be promising.

@the80sweregreat There have been real life cases where the police say they are 'not looking for anyonelse', because they think the person accused did do it despite not getting a guilty verdict.

Southeastdweller · 04/09/2024 18:35

Ruby had a strange exit - she got charged for drug possession and pleaded guilty but we never found out if she went to prison or anything else about her from what I recall. Though I think she was pregnant when she left.

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 04/09/2024 18:46

Would L have to go to trial then ?
Be interesting to see what happens tomorrow

the80sweregreat · 04/09/2024 18:48

The thing with Ruby was weird
She accused Stacey of pushing her down the stairs by doctoring the cctv footage ( the club again!) then Stacey got out ( had a baby in real life ) and Ruby took her place! Martin has never met his child.
Is Chrissie something to do with jumpers ? I bet she might be tbh , but nothing in the tv guide and why is she back ?

Southeastdweller · 04/09/2024 07:44

You'd think so - it would be the right thing - but she'd still get charged with perverting the course of justice, perjury and assisting an offender. How's Linda going to explain her motive for killing Keanu if she doesn't (indirectly) get Sharon in trouble?

I just watched it and Kellie was typically amazing. I also liked Kathy standing up for what's right, although she was never going to confess to her part in the mess, so maybe was being a bit of a hypocrite.

I think Kathy was definitely being a hypocrite and is probably still sore over Rocky being in prison. She’s no paragon of morality as she encouraged Sonia along the criminal path with Reiss that has led to her being wrongfully imprisoned for murder.

Poor Linda! It’s so sad because Keanu was spiralling and he probably would have been convicted for the murder with the way he was behaving and treating his female lawyer.

the80sweregreat · 04/09/2024 19:25

I think the women could have pulled Ken off Sharon fairly easily. Suki was saving Nish , but she could have left him.
Concrete by hand and burying Ken without breaking a nail or being smothered in dust was a real low in the whole thing ( not to mention the court case !)

Bunionbabe · 04/09/2024 22:40

It's possible the police won't believe Linda. If she doesn't drop the others in it she would have to convince them she did it all alone. Anyway, perjury and PCJ also carry heavy sentences.

the80sweregreat · 05/09/2024 07:02

PCJ , I can't find the actual meaning online?
Preventing the cause of justice ?
Perverting ?
Anyway , they certainly all lied and some under oath too.

BrutusMcDogface · 05/09/2024 07:05

Perverting

the80sweregreat · 05/09/2024 07:08

I did think perverting , but it sounded wrong
Not sure why I couldn't find the answer online either ! It is early though
Can't wait for todays one , can't watch till later

Anyonecanfallinlove · 05/09/2024 07:11

Not sure what I think to the latest episode but I didn't enjoy it.
It's confusing because someone mentioned on here that Dean leaves today but he isn't even in the episode. There's no mention of what's happening with him.
I think I need to stop watching.
