Anyone just watched? Not sure what I made of that!

Ooh I watched this episode this evening then again to catch all those little clues on the rewatch.
Brilliant episode

So did I and I still couldn't find the hare! 😅

I didn't find the hare but I went onto one of the "Where Is The Hare In Every Episode" sites and apparently you can see it's ears in one of the scenes where you see through a mirror or a camera lens ( I still didn't see it even when I knew what to look for )

Tarkan · 31/05/2024 11:55

When the mum and girls are looking for the key there's a camera shot on the monitor from behind a jar on the shelf. The hare is on the right. You see that shot a few times, when the mum takes the jar from the shelf and when Dr Death comes into the room as well. It's a bit shadowy especially at first but the more you see it the more obvious it is.

When Steve was having the heart to heart with Millie he looked so emotional. Amazing acting. His face even took on a nearly crying puffiness.

OrchardDoor · 31/05/2024 12:09

I couldn't see the hare even after people pointed out where it was in Mulberry Close. I think you need good eyesight. I keep my distance glasses in the car as my eyesight isn't bad enough to bother the rest of the time but I think you need good eyesight to see the hares sometimes.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 31/05/2024 12:16

As a long time watcher of no9 I have to say I think this is one of the best series yet! They've really smashed it out of the park. I'm going to be sad to not have any more episodes to look forward to at the end of this season, but the best always go out with a bang and leave you wanting more. Pemberton and Shearsmith are just incredible as a writing and acting duo and I can't think of many things that I've been so hooked on and awed by.

EsmaCannonball · 31/05/2024 21:55

You often get episodes of Inside No.9 that start off fairly normal or comedic and end in a sinister way. I liked that this made you feel the ending was going to be really grim and unsettling and it turned out to be happy.

Without giving any spoilers, it had some similarities to a previous episode.

Was very good though. Put me off escape rooms

Not an episode, but it was basically the plot of Ghost Stories - with an added twist. I imagine that, given Jeremy Dyson wrote and directed Ghost Stories, that is not an accident. Has it been acknowledged anywhere?

Ahh yes Ghost Stories , I love a scary Christmas Eve film and watched this a couple of years ago .

ReadyTeddy1000 · 04/06/2024 21:08

Wow what a great episode. The twists are so clever and I never ever seem to guess them.

froggie25 · 05/06/2024 22:30

Brilliant tonight, very spooky and suspenseful and what a cast!
Possibly my favourite this series.

3kidsaremorethanenough · 05/06/2024 22:34

Loved it too, definitely my favourite, I always love the spooky ones. Was that Tommy Shelbys house....

TellyUsername · 05/06/2024 22:35

That's going down as one of my all time favourites. A proper old school ghosty thriller story.

Yes that was Arley Hall.

OrchardDoor · 05/06/2024 23:40

I enjoyed it too. They often have ghost stories like that on at Christmas, which i love, although without all the jokes and euphemisms.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 06/06/2024 00:36

That was gorgeous in it's simplicity. The cinematography in this episode was absolutely stunning imho.

Yeah i love the Christmas ghost stories, I absolutely love the bones of St. Nicholas. There was a show on Bbc4 on Christmas Eve past, it wasn't an Inside No 9, I think it was called the Mummy's curse? Freddie Fox was in it, it was excellent, felt very No 9 like.

TellyUsername · 06/06/2024 08:17

I'm going to be bereft when this ends.

Thanks. It's beautiful. It was the shot of the front of the house that I recognised with the fountain.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 06/06/2024 12:19

I thought it was quite a good episode. I thought Lilian reminded me a bit of Tabs from The Harrowing but I could see the plot twist coming which was a bit of a shame.

spiderlight · 06/06/2024 13:12

Did anyone spot the hare last night? I think I did but it was so quick that I'm not sure.

TinselSniffer · 06/06/2024 13:15

I spotted the hare! I never usually do.

I think some are by Mark Gatiss. I loved The Mezzotint and Count Magnus with Jason Watkins.

Agree with this. The plot twist was really obvious.

The jokes and euphemisms got on my wick a bit as they were peppered throughout the first 10 mins. I feel I'm being harsh, but such are the high expectations of this final series. (And I can understand why they want to bow out themselves at this point)

I don't know who the other cast members are. I did see the names at the end, but I'm not familiar with them. Mind, I don't actually watch all that much TV just the stuff I obsess about

Iamiams · 06/06/2024 14:46

I thought the servant’s orangey makeup and dark eyebrows made her look too modern.
There was no way one man could dig and then fill up that grave either. Loved the lady of the house’s dresses.
