Turmerictolly · 08/05/2024 22:21

That house for £800K was lovely.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/05/2024 09:27

I love the big house they for shown

Once she got up the stairs then had living room and bathroom plus the balcony

But it was big for the two of them

RonSwansonsChair · 09/05/2024 09:50

That 800k house shown to the older couple was fabulous!
It was the first house and their immediate reaction was wow 😍! I said to DH, Kirsty may aswell stop now - they're going to buy that one!

It was interesting that they were upsizing to such a big house for just the two of them.

burnoutbabe · 09/05/2024 09:51

They didn't really discuss whether the bottom part would be lovely.

Having a lovely bungalow with extra rooms upstairs for guests seems sensible but not having all the loveliness upstairs.

RonSwansonsChair · 09/05/2024 10:01

I agree@burnoutbabe- I could see they fell in love with the house upstairs, but I'm wondering how practical it would actually be if/when Annette's (? Think I'm wrong on the name sorry!) condition deteriorates.
They were swayed by the upstairs, well that was from what we saw anyway.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/05/2024 10:21

There were 2 bedroom downstairs

Plus get a stair lift if need be

I loved the flat the younger couple bought .
I also thought the place the older couple bought was too big for them and I think the lady who the cleaning / gardening will fall too will realise eventually. ( Partner had arthritis) .

Yes but the downstairs bedrooms just seemed small /not lovely.

It just didn't seem practical for long term. Bit lovely for now.

martinisforeveryone · 09/05/2024 11:54

I saw this on the TV guide and didn’t watch because it sounded too familiar. Must put it on the list.

Turmerictolly · 09/05/2024 12:00

I guess they could adapt it to their needs ie, knock the two bedrooms together to make a larger space, install a stairlift. Were they upsizing? I missed the beginning.

Abracadabra12345 · 09/05/2024 12:10

Ooooh thanks for the headsup! Will try to catch it at some point

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/05/2024 16:03

@burnoutbabe agree too big for them tbh but maybe they entertain lots ?

@martinisforeveryone it's a new series

But will prob get 4 episodes then repeats or catch ups

Following, Location is my ultimate comfort watching and I'm doing a rewatch from the start. Up to s6 so far! I'll watch the new episode when DH finishes nightshift on Sunday.

martinisforeveryone · 10/05/2024 18:02

I guessed which ones they'd both go for. Thought the flat was a brilliant choice.
I totally get the idea of wanting to upsize and have a dream home with space around them, but I just didn't think the layout and flow of that house was right for them and it wasn't going to be practical in the long run.

The trouble with bungalows is that they do tend to have smaller rooms, so it's hard for downsizers who often feel very squashed.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2024 20:26

Tho bungelows often have huge gardens z

An all-lesbian Location! What a treat.

Yes. Both worth noting but also -perfectly normal. though that's Brighton for you!

Meredusoleil · 10/05/2024 21:14

Thanks for starting this thread Blonds. I was looking for an existing one before the episode was on to give everyone the heads up that a new series was starting!

That first house was absolutely gorgeous. Like a fairytale house imho. The birds eye view was enough to have me signing on the dotted line lol.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2024 21:48

@Meredusoleil Let's hope it's longer than last series which i think was 4 new episodes

OP posts:
burnoutbabe · 10/05/2024 22:09

To be fair there was a good reason for last season be cut short -death of parents.

I am happy with a few episodes per quarter. Can't believed it's at 41 odd series!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2024 08:49

Very true - bless phil

Great it's back.
Than you @Blondeshavemorefun once again for the new thread 💐⭐️
That first house was lovely but I felt it wasn't suitable for their needs.
They had a very healthy budget despite being retired.
