Yes, me! I've thought it for a while - every couch session or pre-dinner party he would be sitting next to her with his arm slung over the back of the couch, or chatting animatedly with her.

Yes I’ve thought that too when I noticed they are usually next to each other.

Yeah. I think he knew better than to try his luck and look like the old fool on TV (and had more respect for Lucinda) but definitely enjoyed their chats giving any wrongdoers the full treatment.

Young and gorgeous though Lauren is, I actually suspect it was about her down to earth, forthright, smart nature and wild streak. Someone who might overstep occasionally or make mistakes rather than acting measured and zen all the time (no shade to queen Lu). I think he'd be more comfortable with that knowing now about his own whopper of a past mistake.

Agreed. I don't think it's that Lauren is younger than Lucinda. He just likes her fiery reactiveness over Lucinda's considered zen-ness. It's more familiar to him and he knows how to respond.

Apparently they were texting - not too innocently - and that's the real reason she wouldn't hand over her phone.

Ollie and Tahnee split up because of it. Sad as they were one of my all time favourite couples.

I do wonder, in a country so vast as Australia, how and why they seem to have relationships with other MAFs Co contestants (whether is same series or not). Surely there's others available!

I just read that we might be seeing a series of MAFS New Zealand in due course. Including Pob as an ixpert.

Ollie and Sarah? I would have thought he had better taste than that.

I think it could be because they ‘recruit’ participants- hence the connections with people who’ve been on before.

I’ll probably give that a miss having watched some of the previous NZ ones …

Just catching up on all the drama as I thought DH might divorce me if I suggested watching whilst on holiday!

I'm another one who's disappointed not to see who got kicked out 😡 so I went back and watched the opening scenes from the first episode. Attached is a screenshot from when he says those words; he is wearing a white shirt with a suit. So I went back to check the other commitment ceremonies, and I think I'm right in saying that the only one that he was wearing a white shirt in was the one where Ben got ripped a new one and then both he & SmugEllie wrote leave (Ep 11-21). I'm wondering if they asked Ben to leave and then cut that and re-shot it as though Ben wrote leave anyway?

The editing has been something else this season! In the opening episode, following Pob's threat to kick someone off, it cuts to a very shocked Tori, but the outfit she is wearing is definitely not the one in the episode above.
As I said earlier, watching exactly how things are done in these things in The Underdog Josh Must Win (surprised they've shown this program as it's a bit like a magician revealing how his magic tricks are done! 😂), it just shows what a whole load of b**cks it all is. At the end of the day though, there are real people and their emotions being played with here. There were certainly some contestants this year whose personalities were probably not robust enough to deal with the edit they got. 😢

That's dedication @Glazedchristmasham! Thanks for investigating. I think, if his outfit matches when Ben and Ellie left I would say your suggestion that it was said to Ben and then edited out later could well be correct.

Another possibility is that it was edited to make it look like someone was thrown out but what was actually said (to Ben or Jack or someone else) was "if you don't start doing X then.... we're going to have to ask you to leave" so it was a warning and not an expulsion.

What really annoys me though is that the clip was shown as a trailer after that particular commitment ceremony when the circumstances of why it was said were never going to be shown to us. That's disingenuous.

@JellyBeanFactory I read that she reached out to him before filming started to ask if he had any 'helpful advice'. Wonder why she chose him out of the plethora of previous contestants 🤔

Do the arseholes on MAFS monetise their arseholery? Otherwise what is the point of torching your reputation? Ellie could have come out of this positively. Instead she's decided to be a dick and everyone hates her. Weird decision.

I think the editing was particularly bad this season. Lauren herself has apparently made some comments that she didn’t really care that Jonno and Ellie were together after she got over the initial shock, and that they were all laughing and joking together.

I saw a video of Jono saying Lauren told him on the first day of the honeymoon that she has a partner outside and isn't interested in a relationship and asked Jono that her and him just have a good time on this ixperiment. Ppl apparently tore her to shreds at the final dinner party.

I actually thought they take on ppl who look for love. Only just realising now that it's more like a casting than a chat with psychologists before the ixperiment starts.

Just watched a podcast on YouTube with Jono and Ellie- worth a watch. Most of them just on there for the fame and followers and know how to stir drama for more air time! Jono and Ellie came across really well and that latest dinner party was over 5 hours of filming and edited to make them look awful
