I thought Lauren looked great. She'd gone all 'Princess Di revenge dress' with hair that both looked good but had a touch of madness and 'I'm furious and don't give a fuck'.

Jono is a snaky weasel. Even Jack sounded reasonable when questioning him, and that hurt me to type.

Just skipped through the episode - I originally thought Jonno was just weak and boring. Now I think he's a weak, boring git.

He's incredibly childish!

He often shows signs of maturity (and I think he's a mental health nurse, where I'd think maturity was necessary?) then goes back to behaving like an immature, irritating boy. I can see why Jade would worry about him fitting in with her family life with her child in the future - and certainly when he's with his mates. 🌹

It's been bugging me what Jonno sounds like....it's the teacher out of Ferris Bullers Day Off "Buller, Buller, Buller"

Ugh I was furious with Jonno last night trying to act the victim. He was sleeping with Lauren a week ago, telling the ixperts how lovely she is, how much he missed her, how much he enjoyed her company blah blah. The only thing that’s changed is that he’s been caught out doing something shady. For the record I think Lauren handled it so calmly, def didn’t lose her shit at him.

Then all of a sudden he’s cold shouldering her, he’s trying to act the victim, would rather be matched with anyone but her………. WTF?!

Was he lying before? Didn’t really like Lauren at all but was playing along for the show/fame, sleeping with her? Acting as a nice guy. And now we see the dickhead he really is?

Or did he truly like Lauren, but cannot handle being caught out, doesn’t like being criticised, darvoing the hell out of her. Has been put off by her standing up for herself and not falling for his bullshit. And now will move on to Ellie as his next victim (who he thinks isn’t as strong as Lauren, more likely to put up with his bullshit).

Though I did feel sorry for him being left in his own for a week or so. More as he would then have nothing to do but be forced to be stuck in the experiment without having a partner or tasks.

Texting past contestants during that time seems sensible to fill up a boring time.

His behaviour seems far less "evil" than Jayden and his 3 sone or Sarah's cheating or jacks entire acts. But everyone turned on him, experts included. Whereas his crimes seem far less bad than anyone else (bar stupid and should apologise)

But it's a tv show and we need villains!

Predictions tonight

50% of them still together by reunion. Ridge/jade and Jayden/eden.

I think Ridges immature reactions are sometimes a nervous response - he wants to play the crowd and be the clown to make people warm to him. Perhaps he found it difficult to make friends when younger so this was his MO. He's a decent guy (or seems to be) so doesn't need to resort to that behaviour.

Jayden & Eden - I have hopes for them. I don't dislike Jayden, I think he has good intentions at heart. Him having sex with his ex's friend, whilst an odd things to do and a bit 'sick', they were all very young (late teens I believe) and it was consensual.

Tori & Jack - she said it, she is infatuated by him and he is loving that adoration and having the control. His toxic ways and dominating/dictating behaviour have become the norm for Tori. I just hope, if they are still together, she watches some back and realises how she has been taken as a fool. It has brought out the worse in her personality too.

Tim & Sara - well. Yes. Hmmm. Not much to say really. She's seen the $ signs I think and he is enjoying the ride. It'll fizzle out.

Jonno can fuck off and Lauren can go back to her champagne!

My musings on the whole Lauren/Jonno/Ellie saga; I think after the honeymoon Lauren clearly didn't think Jonno was for her and clearly expressed this. He was completely spineless at the 'muzzle' dp (as far as we the viewers saw) and I think they've just bumbled along until the homestays.
As a result, Jonno probably didn't think the relationship was going anywhere but was staying anyway just for the sh*ts & giggles, and stayed chatting with others, but particularly Ellie as she clearly liked him.
I think once Lauren was on her home turf and started to relax a bit more with Jonno (particularly after speaking with her friend, and I should imagine relieved post surgery), she started to see that being matched with something completely opposite to what she thought she wanted was actually what she needed. Her coyness when discussing getting intimate again seemed genuine.
I think Jonno really couldn't see he had done anything wrong; he hadn't crossed any sexual boundaries over the texts (who knows at this point if anything else will come out!) and doesn't realise that not mentioning Lauren at all is huge. Post homestays I think things were getting back on track with Lauren (would be interesting to know if his messaging frequency with Ellie reduced then).
But I think he realised he had been completely thrown under the bus by the producers just for the story arc and wasn't going to grovel at all at the dp. You could see the cogs whirring on his face!
In summary (sorry it was so long!), I do wonder if there actually could have been a chance for L&J if the producers hadn't screwed around with everything/everyone.

Did you all catch Tori, near the end of the programme, say to the ham “kiss me, fake it”. It was just caught by the camera.

Do people reckon Lauren would have definitely called it a day based on this if it was midway not at the end? As in if there was a proper amount of time to apologise and work through it?

I can't make my mind up if it might have been recoverable apart for timing (I accept Jono's response has been shit).

His messages weren't substantively inappropriate, it was more about omission and volume rather than content.

Me personally, I'm quite zero tolerance about eyes elsewhere (and suspect Lauren may be the same) plus they seem a surface level good match so my inclination would be to leave them to it.

And did Jade hit ridge??

Yes, I think you've articulated well how I think he sees it too. I guess the issue is though that he should have been more fully committed to the ixperiment. Texting Ellie was keeping his options open and if half his brain was thinking about that, that's not doing the right thing by the ixperiment, regardless of how Lauren was feeling.

And I don't buy his 'it was all innocent' thing. If that was the case, Lauren would naturally have come up in the texts.

Tbh, I think he'd have done better if he'd said "at the time you weren't into me at all, and you said we weren't suited. I was getting on with Ellie so I texted her. But once you and I were getting on better, it stopped [if it did] and I have been 100% focussed on you. I'm sorry and I shouldn't have done it. I can see know why you're hurt".

But he didn't, he went on the defensive and I think that tells us everything. He doesn't care or really want to make it work.

I hope the pious stepsister is heading to confession to ask for forgiveness for her thoughts on Lauren.

Who knows what he actually did say though, as it's in the lap of the gods producers what actually gets shown 🙄

I really cheesed on with that there is so much editing manipulation. The problem is once I've started watching it, I still want to know what happens. Please remind me next year just not to start in the first place.

i wondered if the 'I should have been paired with Ellie' comment was at the same session where Jack said anyone else could sleep with Tori at swap week, which is why Jonno was SOOOO quiet and totally hung Lauren out to dry when she went for jack over his comments

Ridge and cassandra may have been fun! the one matched with the medium with the one matched with collins?
