Whipped and congested.

Must do better, Domnall. Tsk.

He also has artwork on his Instagram which he has called koala bear

He obviously doesn't know that koalas are not bears!

CharlotteStreetW1 · 11/04/2024 08:21

Just watched it and my thoughts (for what they're worth)...

I like Matt's work but I'm quite bored with the black and white fabrics now.

I really loved Ben's sewing desk (quite envious actually) and I liked the idea of the partition between that and the kitchen.

I also thought his walk-in wardrobe was genius.

I used to own a studio flat although it had a separate bedroom area. I was pretty poor back then. I had a Japanese paper screen in the opening between the bedroom and the living room (which DH has just told me he didn't like 😂). I also had a curtain in front of my nasty second hand white melamine (?) wardrobe and chest of drawers. This was in the 90s - I was clearly ahead of my time 😊

Netaporter · 11/04/2024 08:33

I’ve just noticed that Michelle has reposted Ben’s s story to her story on Insta. Not noticed she had reposted any other contestants… (unlikely to be Domhall now I guess 😂) is this a sign tho? 🤔

I rolled my eyes at the koala bear too!

Oh Domhnall ! ☹️
It's the drawing beside the poem

Bruisername · 11/04/2024 09:20

He must be very bitter as this must have been filmed quite a while ago.

I haven't been to Ikea's kids section for years, but Francesca's apartment looked how I remember it.

😂you hit the nail on the head here!

As soon as you said that i remember these paint splosh effect mirrors they sold.

He could be making a fortune selling copies of some of the featured prints. But bitter, badly written poems are not going to endear people to him.

Who was the woman on Changing Rooms who was everywhere and now nowhere?

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 11/04/2024 10:04

Who was the woman on Changing Rooms who was everywhere and now nowhere?

Linda Barker?

SoupDragon · 11/04/2024 10:07

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 11/04/2024 10:04

Linda Barker?

Or Anna Ryder Richardson but I think I've seen her on some other things after Changing Rooms. Linda Barker seems to have dropped off screen.

Carol Smillie probably?

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 11/04/2024 11:49

DS had that green mirror when he was a child.

He grew out of it by aged ten.

Clowncesca can only make children’s spaces.

All the other contestants seem to be friends with eachother and tag eachother on insta, including Francesca - loads have left nice comments after last nights show. We only see the edit but from this I can conclude perhaps D isn’t so pleasant to work with. Putting all the cheap shots on insta over the last wk is so unprofessional and unnecessary and teenage? Michelle also put a story up saying there is a longer sofa discussion than shown and everyone definitely was given the time to put their views forward, and that she made the correct decision… Whatever it’s an interior design show, all taste is subjective, and it’s edited. All the personal comments on social media and from this contestant I find really uncalled for. To me Francesca seemed like she knew she was going last night and took it gracefully. With a toddler too she must have been knackered! I think without contestants like Ben and Francesca the show would be pretty dull!

Where is the thing that Michelle posted? I've trawled her insta but can't see it.

Was on her stories so gone now, bt asically said along the lines of ‘a quick word in response to unkind comments on social media…’(what I said above). She also explains her reasoning in a reply to a comment on photo of her with the guest judge Shayne of you look down that..

Anna Ryder-Richardson bought a zoo near Tenby about 15 years ago. I didn't go there, but it used to be popular when my teen was younger

There was also Homefront, if anyone remembers that. Presented by Tessa Shaw originally, and with Anne McKevitt as the designer - the ubiquitous Laurence L-B was involved as well. And Diarmuid Gavin - he used to be everywhere at one point.

evilharpy · 11/04/2024 13:49

Wow, what a shitty, bitter post. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall for the rest of the sofa conversation. It's a shame as he's clearly a very talented artist/graphic designer and I like his work very much but this would definitely put me off wanting to work with him.

The remaining contestants all seem like lovely people.

timegoesbysoso · 11/04/2024 14:56

Yes, Linda Barker. Off to google

SpeculatingRooks · 11/04/2024 15:07

Linda Barker was the one that broke all the teapots! I'll never forget that!Shock

Kevin McCloud was in it too. I loved that programme

Just spent a happy 5 minutes rewatching that. Those poor people!

That programme was brilliant and probably the best of the home programmes.

I also liked the original iteration of DIY SOS too when it was a half hour show showing three segments of hapless menfolk being publicly humiliated for not finishing painting the bathroom or something trivial and we were allowed to point and laugh.

Kevin McCloud was the lighting specialist on that show if I remember rightly? He used to have a lighting design business in London. He would pop up and wang on about ‘task lighting’ - before moving on to GD and wanging on about ‘the vernacular’ 😂

I think there was a young chap called Ollie on it who made everything out of plywood/OSB/Chipboard/MDF?

Loved the show tho.

Blimey I'd completely forgotten about Home Front. IIRC Tessa Shaw spoke as if everything was slightly amusing.
