Here we go ready for next week as the thread moves quickly across the hour!

All the other contestants seem to be friends with eachother and tag eachother on insta, including Francesca - loads have left nice comments after last nights show. We only see the edit but from this I can conclude perhaps D isn’t so pleasant to work with. Putting all the cheap shots on insta over the last wk is so unprofessional and unnecessary and teenage? Michelle also put a story up saying there is a longer sofa discussion than shown and everyone definitely was given the time to put their views forward, and that she made the correct decision… Whatever it’s an interior design show, all taste is subjective, and it’s edited. All the personal comments on social media and from this contestant I find really uncalled for. To me Francesca seemed like she knew she was going last night and took it gracefully. With a toddler too she must have been knackered! I think without contestants like Ben and Francesca the show would be pretty dull!

It’s clear from some of the comments Domnall has made on Insta that he feels he was badly edited. And who knows, he could be right. And I suppose if you feel you weren’t treated fairly, and this was all shown to millions on TV, you would be a bit pissed off.
But still .. the poem (the “cream of the pomp” one) does seem a bit much. And it’s pretty terrible.

Yes, he could be right. This doesn't make it seem that way though, it has the opposite effect IMO.

And even if he is right, this isn’t really the way to go about things. I’d be licking my wounds and putting a brave face on, or trying to.

I’ve just read the poem… it’s awful! Sort of totally self defeating as well to write a poem that is all about criticising others for judging people but the whole poem is itself very judgmental and snooty?! Even if it wasn’t pointed, which it clearly is… so so odd. If he has something to say he’d be better to come out and say it. What sort of market is there for these nasty bitchy little poems either? It’s not exactly positive or uplifting! I mean really, who does this? After a decorating competition!

Yes exactly, keep your dignity and save it for a private rant to your friends!! Ironically he comments that at least he left with his dignity?!

I really liked Domhall until last week when I thought he came across really poorly. The poem does nothing to make me feel more kindly towards him. Shame, he has a lot of talent.

This is the one I thought was off. (Apologies for capitals - I just did a cut & paste).

That is clearly a caricature of Michelle in Domnall's Instagram poem. I was actually defending him in my mind until I saw that he dragged Michelle into this.

Yep, I definitely read it as a dig at Michelle. And the drawing which accompanies it. Plus the reference to “experts”.
If that’s the case, and it’s not some sort of unfortunate coincidence, it’s a bit unhinged.

Oh lord. That’s like the kind of poem people write to the local paper about the bins not being collected or the number of immigrants in the town.

The picture on the first part of the poem is offensive. Even if it is a ‘coincidence’ you’d have to be tone deaf to not realise it could be construed in that way with the timing.. but it clearly clearly isn’t. Nasty, offensive, and so commercially short sighted to throw away any goodwill that would remain from the show and connections.

You'd think if you were going to design artwork showing a snide poem you'd run it through the spellchecker first.

There’s more, believe it or not. This is the rest of it:

Would you want to work with someone you know would turn round and stab you in the back?

He's just proving that Michelle was right to send him home.

I think this makes it clear what the conversation was like!

I mean who does he actually think he is?
Can he not take criticism from an actual expert with good grace?
Like a PP said plenty of previous contestants who didn't win went on to have interiors careers, you don't burn your bridges.

I knew the reason he went was because of his attitude. It made sense when design wise it could so easily have been francesca that week.
