Here we go ready for next week as the thread moves quickly across the hour!

So ahead of tonight’s show.. what do we think will be on ‘Rental property bingo’?

I’m thinking:
-Uncomfortable furniture (plywood bonk ets etc)
-hundreds of nails/holes in walls
-impractical huge room dividers with shelves set at the wrong height so you can’t see the view/guests etc
-no storage - think flimsy hanging rails and zero wardrobes/drawers
-lighting as an afterthought

Clearly "inappropriate colour choice" features highly

Ooh we might get a homemade sofa. That red would kill me, but I might have liked it when I was younger. Womblike, with soft lighting…I’m really trying to avoid a scold from the artist….

I think that red might look alright once it's had another coat, looks like it might be more a deep burgundy red rather than a bright tomato red. If he styles the rest of the room right it might work, but it's Ben so it'll probably be too bonkers.

I guess it depends upon the brief though. I'm not adverse to painting rooms strong colours, but if the brief is meant to show what you can achieve cleverly with a rental to make it your own without losing your deposit, painting everything deep red probably won't pass muster.....and for me the clip featuring Ben was showing "yeah I know, but I did it anyway" vibes....

Someone will have fake plants, and other dust collectors.
And the usual spending far too long painting or sewing something totally useless/insignificant and not having time to do something essential.

I do sort of understand the getting lost in insignificant details thing.

the difference between a nice room and a great room is often the small touches that finish it well. So they have the eye for those small touches/ finishing details.
But they are not experienced enough, and under such a time restraint that they don't get everything finished.

Oh gosh that red brings back memories of disasters on Changing rooms.

I had a burgundy red wall in my dining room in about 2008.

Placemarking with some dust-trap lace curtains.

Shame we don't have LLB judging 😂

Often the bits they show in the clips aren't indicative of how the show goes so it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

I think pallets will appear tonight, probably to make a ridiculously uncomfortable sofa.

I am expecting:

lots of unnecessary dust gathering tut which is the last thing you need in a B and B.

Also raised platform beds, or similar awkwardly arranged beds , which are hard to change and put fresh linen on.

not enough seating for the number of people

no decent curtains

Not sure now if it is a B and B or a rental they are doing. Most of my bingo calls apply to both!

DS has a red bedroom. ‘Roasted Red’ or some similar wanky paint name.

I binged all of the last series yesterday. I’m so into it.

Completely bonkers colour coordination. In your own home... Not for a rental. Decoration with an 'agenda'... Literally nobody cares about your identity.
