Sad to see Anthony go. I think it will be Ben next week.

I also think it could be Ben. He did fab this week but he has more bad weeks than good when he works alone.

Imagine if it was Matt that ended up going, now that would be a massive shock!!

I do wonder as a PP said whether the final prize has a bearing on who goes through? I think it's designing a homeware collection this year? Which if you think about it doesn't need someone to have an understanding of how to use space (in a room) to best advantage like Matt, but would suit someone with a dramatic side like Ben or someone like Roisin could stick flowers all over it.

That’s true - given matts aesthetic it would be an interesting line!

I know a textile designer and it’s a specific skill to have so it seems an odd prize to give budding interior designers

@useruserna good point, I wonder if the person who ‘owns’ the prize stipulates what they are looking for 🤔 Ben and Roisin would suit that.

I only know what next weeks challenge is from a post up thread but if it’s dressing type areas for music artists etc at an arena, Ben might do really well with something like that.

@JaneIves I can't believe they didn't put the mossy mounds back in! I would for a couple of weeks after the show.so people instantly recognise it. I guess a polar bear in April makes way more sense.

Is the crystal shop a viable business or a vanity project?

I’m a bit confused by the Old and Curious shop. It really looks like a plants / fossils / rocks / curios place, not a woo crystals / tarot / dream catcher shop? I feel like the producers miscast it as a “crystals” shop rather unfairly and then the kids sand pit followed as a sort of novelty attraction. As the owner said that that display would damage their stock, they may well feel a bit hard done by and misrepresented. (other than getting all the publicity of course which can’t hurt!)

We used to live near an independent picture framing shop that we used a lot, and one day noticed he had a lovely fossil just hanging around. We asked if it was for sale, he seemed a bit surprised but said yes, and revealed he had loads of fossils/crystals as he was just interested in them. We bought quite a few, purely as beautiful objects of huge age…so then gradually he started to display them and eventually they became as much a selling line as the original framing business. No idea if he’s still there - we moved away - but we felt a small glow of pride at having accidentally opened up a new line of business for him.

PS he didn’t have any moss or sand in his window display, just fossils 😂

I said this. I think that was selfish of her to do this although Anthony said of said something. As it was ridiculous to have 2 decorators doing the wallpaper. I was sick of the green paint as well. I am glad that he will get some work from Mary Portas.

The semi final is going to be interesting as they really do have very different styles. I’d like to see Ben in the final as I’ve found him the most interesting overall - and I think the dressing-room task could play to his strengths. But I actually think Matt will win.

I really thought Anthony would make the final and I thought the clothes shop was better than the crystals. And the owner loved it! Sorry to see him go but can't wait for next week. It's my treat viewing and I watch it alone

I think all four should have been on the sofa. There were problems with both shops.

It's a shame Anthony had to go.
He has great potential and winning the show would just make it easier ultimately to make s name for himself.
