I loved what they did with the 3rd shed. I bet she uses that hot tub so much now.

I can understand having a 3rd child, especially when they've had fertility issues and also a miscarriage.

It was a beautiful house. I think I would have murdered my h if he filled it with all that stuff though, and as a sahp, I think he really ought to have done more to keep on top of it. There was so much that he could have just slung in a skip.

Did think it was a bit cheeky charging Rob £20 for the chainsaw when Rob was making their house so lovely.

Ulysees · 27/03/2024 13:43

@JobMatch3000 yes I saw that with the sofa. I can't get my head around these people. And leaving dirty dishes FFS?!!

Oh I missed that charging Rob for the chainsaw! That's awful.

I think a lot of that stuff is all staged banter for the camera. Even some of the nonsense between the team is put on.

MrsBird03 · 27/03/2024 13:54

I think on a previous episode Joe bought some exercise equipment off someone too. I often wonder if they recoup any money from stuff they get rid of, there is an awful lot. I know its sunk cost fallacy but I have to sell clothes / toys to buy the next size up etc so would break my heart for it all to go

Ulysees · 27/03/2024 13:56

I'd sell a lot more than they do.

The sell pile was very small compared to the rest on the newest episode. It's really sad to think of all that money wasted now on stuff that's not even worth the hassle of selling.

LadyBird1973 · 27/03/2024 14:14

It would be nice to know if the team ever manage to sell any of the stuff and if so, how much they make.

I'm sure they used to show that on previous episodes.

MrsBird03 · 27/03/2024 15:09

Yes I thought so too, I know on he Nuck knowles one they go to CEX or antique shops.

Do they just box all the for sale stuff up and then have to store it again this it sells ? As I imagine it will take longer than a week to sell and there wont be a car boot on that particular day. Just feels like the house might be lovely but then quickly fills up when the for sale stuff comes back in

Ulysees · 27/03/2024 17:04

All the t shirts with labels could have gone on vinted or something.

They chose to have a third child which it seems they could not really afford unless she went back to work so I don't feel sorry for her. Madness to have 3 children and so close together

Most of the families in sort your life out don't seem very well off but have spent an absolute fortune on stuff. For the cost of all those power tools and the flat pack unwrapped shed! in the nursery she could have had another couple of months maternity leave.

No, Nick Knowles is the ITV version of Sort your life out.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 27/03/2024 18:13

Channel 5 was the Nick Knowles one. Only time I watch 5!

Then you are missing out - All Creatures Great and Small is on 5 and it's the most gorgeous, perfect bit of television. Samuel West as Siegfried is wonderful.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 27/03/2024 18:20

I did notice the fabulous Diana Rigg was in it, I meant to I just never got round to it. Too many channels, not enough time.

EndlesslyDistracted · 27/03/2024 18:29

I kind of assumed that it all got taken away and recycled or donated or whatever, the logistics of selling all that stuff are mind-boggling and possibly one reason why they have hung onto so much of it, you do need to be quite organised to do it. In general they don’t seem to be so hard up that they have to sell it all, and hopefully they will be spending less in future. That is the problem though, stopping it creeping back in, if you are like me and just enjoy shopping its a hard habit to break. Nature abhors a vacuum.

FoxyLocksie · 27/03/2024 18:35

Rummikub · 21/03/2024 14:28

This is such a good description and sounds like me. Dd recently diagnosed adhd and I’m on the wait list for both.

The thing is though, I think this describes a lot of people to a T. It sounds just like me, for instance. But we can't all have ADHD and/or be autistic, can we?

Rummikub · 27/03/2024 18:39

Possibly. But I do think it’s more common than currently expected.

LadyBird1973 · 27/03/2024 18:49

I doubt the families have to sell the stuff - it would just end up back in the house, which defeats the purpose.

ThePoshUns · 27/03/2024 19:18

Just watching on catch up now. First impression, Kieth is a cock.

JobMatch3000 · 27/03/2024 20:24

I've definitely seen SYLO episodes where they either have a stall at a car boot sale or have a trip to Cash Converters to sell some of the stuff.
Agree with PP, if Keith hadn't have bought all that DIY equipment and coins, Mum could have afforded another month ML.
And why did they need to keep a wooden boat?

Meredusoleil · 27/03/2024 21:41

I've just watched yesterday's on catch up too and kept thinking damn man, put the baby down for a bit (or at least put him in a sling). It was like one of the adults had to constantly be holding him the whole time 🤦‍♀️

No kitchen or living room seen in this epsiode But obviously they had enough to do with everywhere else (including 3 sheds) already!

Also, did I hear the mum right at the beginning say she had FIVE jobs?!? And the dad only has one which involves wfh so he can be a shd as well?

It looked to me like Keith had probably gone through a massive loss of self-worth after being made redundant and was stock piling the silver coins in an effort to feel useful.

ThePoshUns · 27/03/2024 22:10

Yea I thought she said she had 5 jobs as well?!
