Here you all are! I enjoyed this week’s episode and thought it was really useful to understand quite how houses end up like this.

LadyBird1973 · 22/03/2024 10:06

The dad had promised to make the girls a dance studio in the garage - then fucked off with another woman he met 'a few weeks later' Hmm and left the garage full of his shit!
I'm glad this programme shamed him a bit, by doing for the girls what he'd failed to do and by leaving in the bit about him blaming the mum for the mess!

I really liked what they did - agree about the shoe storage not being see through. Or they could use it to store mum's really beautiful shoes, which would be a pleasure to see.
I loved the blue and pink contrast and their rug.

I think it would have been good to do Rachel's bedroom - make it very different to when her ex lived there. I would line up have seen the whole house, even if they didn't do much. I think they must have fitted the kitchen a bit cos they threw out the out of date custard and spices.

Really love this programme.

longtompot · 22/03/2024 11:11

I watched this last night. They did briefly show the kitchen during the their too busy to tidy up bit. The youngest was eating noodles and putting as many as she could into her mouth.
I thought the living room was beautiful. The two bedrooms were gorgeous too. I thought the dance studio might be a bit narrow but they seemed happy. I hope they are all happier now. They seemed such a close family

JFDIYOLO · 22/03/2024 11:24

I so hope the new fiancée watched the episode and took note of what a prince she's won herself. I thought they were very fair in the way they told the family's story, though, and it was good to see he's keeping a great relationship with the girls. So hard for the mother.

HarrietWorries · 22/03/2024 12:18

I really enjoyed this episode, it was good to see a house that was actually big enough for them but just lacking in systems to keep it in order (as often we see homes that just aren't big enough for the families).

I really hope they keep it nice and it's the fresh start they need, especially the mum whose husband clearly cheated on her and she's had to raise his kids, and rebuild herself, while surrounded by his crap.

HarrietWorries · 22/03/2024 12:18

I also noticed the dance floor had big bubbles

He's remarried now, it was obviously filmed last year as the wedding pictures are on his Facebook. Worth a sneaky look. She's better off without him for sure.

I really enjoyed this episode. The pegboard for the sewing room was a great idea and I loved the living room colours personally.

The mum and her daughters were all so talented. I'm glad they managed to use the show to get the twatty ex to finally take his crap out of the garage.

SleepEatSnoozeRepeat · 22/03/2024 14:38

Loved this one, what a fantastic family. So talented and they deserve to show off all their achievements in a beautiful home.

I would love to know how the conversation went when the production team contacted the ex though. Hi mate, we’ve got all this junk of yours, do you want it or shall we just dump it all? And get the story of how it was all left when you fucked off? He was a chump. I’m glad they got the comments in about him blaming the mum for the mess, yeah love right.

Mountainormolehills · 22/03/2024 15:24

I thought it was really interesting that the mum was so open with her choice of words - I wonder what the ex thought when it aired? But he really didn’t come across well, leaving all his crap, that reasonated with me, when my ex moved out they left rubbish that I ended up giving to the movers and they left a filing cabinet which took months of empty promises until my lovely handyman moved it.
Im not surprised she’s exhausted, she only gets 2 days free in every 14!

LadyBird1973 · 22/03/2024 15:59

That fb page! I know I'm being a bit mean and judgy, but I do think it's a bit tragic when men wear cowboy hats when they aren't actual cowboys! Like children playing dress up.

That’s not been updated for 6 years - is that new new partner?

LenaLamont · 22/03/2024 16:46

What I most noticed about the mum was how her left eye twitched when she was talking about personal things - I felt sorry that she was clearly repressing the hell out of stuff.

No, it is his singing partner. But you can click on one of the comments to his page and see him and his new wife at their wedding.

EDIT: Although it might have been who he left Rachel for who knows?

Mountainormolehills · 22/03/2024 17:19

He’s got this in his feed - very public!

Yes, and messing around with a pan lid wrapped in a tea towel, just hire a carpet cleaner?

Totally. Although I did once power wash a rug after one of my children were sick on it.

skilpadde · 22/03/2024 18:28

So according to Facebook, he's been with his now 2nd wife since 2017... that's a really long time to leave his junk filling the garage. What an arsehole.

NoMumLeftBehindLiz · 22/03/2024 20:08

Rob fans: Just spotted him doing joinery on Interior Design Masters series 5, very tight T-Shirt.

And he's a vegetarian, based on the sausage sandwich comment this week - I could not love him more.

Iwan and his frying pan lid - rather than an actual wet & dry machine or just an scrubbing brush - was absolute nonsense. It's hard not to roll eyes allthe way through his segments.

Dusting with a sock, ffs.

Putthefuckingthingsaway · 22/03/2024 22:30

Tbf, this week I made this for DD’s room after watching Stacey. I’m actually quite proud of myself 😂
