TonIght’s opening episode features renovation of accommodation in a Norfolk convent. From today’s Times :- “ one of the contestants first appears in an outfit that Carr playfully suggests makes her look as though she has arrived from zippos Circus and the Victorian enthusiast Ben is not an unflamboyant presence”

It does say on their website that the rooms are too small to be used as approved accommodation for the homeless people (‘companions’) they support, so that’s why they’re making them into short-term b & bs.

We opened our doors in 2011 and now support up to 32 people in our community in rural Norfolk from the site of the former All Hallows Convent.
Our companions all have their own bedroom, and enjoy delicious home-cooked meals served in our communal dining room. They all work in one of our social enterprise businesses, which includes our charity shops and house clearance service. The money raised through these businesses fund the work we do, and we aim to be as self-funding as possible.

Yes, the B&B aspect is going to give the Companions experience of working in a hospitality environment.

Those B&B rooms were so over the top.

I'd be so disappointed if I'd booked in to one of them.
I prefer the simpler style of the B&B room that is actually available in All Hallows.

Bring back Sophie Robinson and the more gentle, chilled interior design show she presented rather than the "I'm mad me" vibe 🙄 of the present one

Absolutely ridiculous. This isn't the show it used to be. And it's so much poorer for it.

I'm now watching Series 2 concurrently with this one (Series 5) and getting the contestants mixed up. (Somehow watching on catchup, iplayer showed me series 2 and I didn't check properly. Realised half way through: where is clown lady?).

I do actually like Clownesca's vibe if it were toned down. I can appreciate Matt but not for me, much too sterile.

Can you imagine deciding you want to pay someone to help you to make the most of your most expensive purchase, so call in an interior designer, and a weird woman in a clown outfit turns up to the appointment expecting you to hand her a hefty wedge of your hard earned money!

Tonight’s episode looks like it has some IDM bingo call treats in store for us… Predictably, this weeks task involves designing a child’s activity centre ….at Chester zoo. The contestants are spitting into three teams (so plenty of faux teambuilding manufactured drama for the bingo card) shall we place guesses as to the pairings before we start? 3 teams of 3.

My first prediction: Clowncesca with Matt and Domhall.
