TonIght’s opening episode features renovation of accommodation in a Norfolk convent. From today’s Times :- “ one of the contestants first appears in an outfit that Carr playfully suggests makes her look as though she has arrived from zippos Circus and the Victorian enthusiast Ben is not an unflamboyant presence”

I agree with @Cleaningupthemess I found her so intensely irritating each week, all the eye rolling etc. I also thought many of her "designs" were childish, and as said it was if she was trying too hard to be a "personality"

She managed to out camp a very camp gay man!
I thought Ben's was good bar the red bedroom.

Francesca’s personality feels not at all genuine. Unless she’s emotionally and socially, a 13 year old, she needs to stop all the eye rolling, hair tossing, hand flapping and calculated faux camp eccentricity. It comes across as totally unprofessional and intensely irritating. If she were my teenager I’d be hoping to god she’d grow out of this phase pronto. As an adult it’s just unsettlingly jarring. I’m all for eccentricity but only if it’s genuine .

Alchemistress Jim Howick and Francesca look like brother and sister. I totally see it.

Just catching up. Is that electric blue paint going to be as easy to paint over. Is it not splashback rather than backsplash!
