TonIght’s opening episode features renovation of accommodation in a Norfolk convent. From today’s Times :- “ one of the contestants first appears in an outfit that Carr playfully suggests makes her look as though she has arrived from zippos Circus and the Victorian enthusiast Ben is not an unflamboyant presence”

3 cafes, 6 contestant’s left so I’m guessing 3 teams of 2 each? From the trailer last week it looks like Matt is paired with Roisin. And Ben’s work is praised by judge Nisha so maybe he won’t be shouting at everyone on Social Media this week 😂

Matt does seem to be the only one with spatial awareness or spatial design experience so far so it’ll be interesting to see what happens.

For the Bingo in this task the client always wants a greater number of covers or to at least maintain the current level, and one team always creates less covers or a space that cannot comfortably accommodate the number of chairs so waiting staff can access them included in the design.

I’m guessing gold leaf for the café bingo card.

How about some kind of "art" involving crockery or cutlery?

Cafe bingo - chairs painted terribly. Or not at all.

Oh yes - possibly the legs dipped in different colours. Always a favourite. Or bench seating with lots of dodgy DIY upholstery involving bits of foam.

I've been watching series 2 and the cafes they did up were really good. Especially Lynsey with the upstairs room. Really high standards.

Just gave DD2 a haircut so I'm feeling very creative and designery, just in time for the show.
