I've just watched Clocking Off on iPlayer and Denise (DP) has a pixie crop haircut. A skinny Sarah Lancashire is in it too. Missed it first time round.

Clocking off was great tv it had "everyone" in it.

Mrsjayy · 09/04/2024 11:51

The yolande episode looks good I'm glad they put advance storyline warnings because people might want to avoid it.

Southeastdweller · 09/04/2024 14:01

I wonder if it’s going to go ahead in tomorrow’s episode - Stacey planting the murder weapon in Dean’s apartment - because it’s really silly. No evidence and no motive. He also wouldn’t have access to the caff.

Thanks for the date @WDTABNONONO - I will avoid that episode.

I think Jay leaving was just a rumour, maybe it was assumed after Lola went? I've never seen anything convincing to say he actually is. Someone asked where he works now - I think he still works at the undertakers?

NadiaCravensworth · 09/04/2024 16:06

I would tape the murder weapon under the bed, or upside in a cupboard

Hide it somewhere the police would easily find, but Dean wouldnt accidentally find it. Although he could find it just as the police arrive

I'd actually just put it in the bin and put it out on bin day !

Also next week, Yolande is sexually assaulted by Pastor Clayton.

He is so predatory! How sad for her

the80sweregreat · 09/04/2024 18:13

Hope that Denzil punches the pastors lights out
( which I know sounds really bad )
Poor Yolande going through that

MichaelAndEagle · 09/04/2024 18:16

I'm trying to think, would there be any motive for Dean to kill keanu? Just the weapon wouldn't be enough to get a conviction would it?
Especially as he would have a credible argument as to why someone might plant it on him (loads of enemies!).

the80sweregreat · 09/04/2024 18:17

I suppose they will just make up a big feud with Ken and Dean !
I've not seen todays one yet

Viewer23 · 09/04/2024 18:19

I think Jay still manages the car lot, especially with Rocky gone.

I was thinking about the soap opera justice the various antagonists of ‘the 6’ have had.

Nish (Suki’s antigonist) lost his family, home and prestige in the community.

Jack (Denise’s antagonist) lost his marriage.

Theo (Stacey’s antagonist) lost his freedom and is now in prison.

Ditto Rocky (Kathy’s antagonist)

Keanu (Sharon’s antagonist) lost his life

And Dean (Linda’s antagonist) is about to lose his freedom? The last of the 6 to go down.

Bunionbabe · 09/04/2024 18:27

Yolanda always seems like a feisty person so I don't understand why she is being intimidated by pervy priest and bitchy women. As someone said up thread, obvs best thing to do with murder weapon would have been to put it in bin on day one.

Viewer23 · 09/04/2024 18:36

Didn’t something happen with Yolanda’s last husband (the one she left in Birmingham I think it was)? And there was some kind of scandal involving the church there? Maybe that’s why she feels so intimidated again? But also, the pervy pastor is very predatory and the bitchy women have already ganged up on her. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some kind of backstory of the pastor abusing other women in the church.

the80sweregreat · 09/04/2024 18:39

Yolande and the church in Birmingham , didn't they say she stole some money and it turned out she didn't ??
Something like that ?

Viewer23 · 09/04/2024 18:40

Oh yeah! I will look it up. I thought that she was being abused up there as well and her husband was blackmailing her or something but I don’t remember the details now.

Viewer23 · 09/04/2024 18:41

I’ve had it with all the violence against women and sexual assault storylines though. There must be other social issues they need to raise awareness of!

the80sweregreat · 09/04/2024 18:41

Viewer 23..
Yes, good summery there. It didn't occur to me before how the men have played out in this , but you're right !

the80sweregreat · 09/04/2024 18:44

I agree that Yolande being attacked is a plot too far. It was bad enough with Linda and Dean that time , but this is too much.
Also agree there are many other issues they could raise , maybe the cost of living crisis or homelessness or just something different?
Yet another traumatized woman ...

GloriousintheArctic · 09/04/2024 21:39

I agree, EE are obsessed with sexual assault plots, I do not want to see this yet again with Yolande.

@the80sweregreat don't wish for a cost of living plot - we'll have Denise eating out of a bin again! They never do those things very well.

If Stacey has planted the weapon I assume the plan is for someone to somehow(?) tip off the police before Dean gets on a plane tomorrow. I guess him shouting out "you can say what you want about me, nothing is going to stick" will feature.

I got a bit fed up with Eddie baiting George. I want to see the end of this plot, they are laying it on too thick.

the80sweregreat · 09/04/2024 21:46

Yes , I guess that another cost of living plot would be badly handled by the writers , but it's got to be better than another poor woman being attacked :( poor auntie Yo
Eddie is a good actor , but I just wish him and Gloria would do one .
She is ill this week. I hope she doesn't move to the square !

Southeastdweller · 09/04/2024 21:51

I'm also a bit bored with it now. Hopefully it's going to end this week at the trial. Great acting by everyone involved, but it's time to wrap it up.

the80sweregreat · 09/04/2024 21:53

Eddie and George have acted it well, but I am zoning out of it all. I like George as a character, but it's sad his adopted parents are so horrible

GloriousintheArctic · 10/04/2024 08:23

I agree it is great acting but I feel like it's going round in circles. I did notice that last night Eddie mentioned George's son (the one I had entirely forgotten about), and the fact that George 'walked away from him'. So I guess the son turning up will be the next plot point. He must be a bad 'un if George walked away.

Does anyone know when this happens? I’m not going to watch it, not because it’s triggering but I’m so done with EE having storylines about women being asssulted. If they, just one time, showed a woman going straight to the police, shouting it from the rooftops, but instead they will show a pensioner getting assaulted. I find it upsetting and really repetitive.

Southeastdweller · 10/04/2024 08:52

The Yolande episode is next Wednesday @Icehockeyflowers
