Jacks constant arm stroking of Tori gave me the rage too. That would drive me round the bend. I feel like he's doing it consciously as a way to display how great they are together but actually just shows how fake he is, it's like it's forced and he's sat there saying to himself "stroke her arm so that everyone thinks your into her", it looks so unnatural.

@LuluBlakey1 not my jam = not my style

Yes but why 'jam'? What does it link to? Jam as in strawberry or some other kind - I can only think of 'jamming'?

Skiphopbump · 19/03/2024 07:08

@LuluBlakey1 it’s 80/90s phrase. Probably referred to music to start with then moved to style in general.

NotDonna · 19/03/2024 07:14

@LuluBlakey1 it’s short for jamming. Not my kind of behaviour, role, the type of thing I like to do or feel. But I quite like the idea that he’s gooseberry jam and she prefers something sweeter!

NotDonna · 19/03/2024 07:20

@Skiphopbump yes, it originates from music. Enjoying a certain style of music, Rythm, feeling etc.
She does come out with some phrases doesn’t she? I think I’d find her too syrupy in real life but I can’t help liking her and think she’d be a fab friend. I can also imagine people taking advantage of her and her not receiving as much as she gives.

MagpiePi · 19/03/2024 07:28

I think that Lucinda is quite perceptive and has a bit more of a steely core than she lets on and is really confident about her own wants and boundaries. She has sussed Tim the Elder and while she is prepared to give him another go, she's not going to waste time on him if he doesn't start giving a bit more, which not only includes being more emotionally open but also practical things like doing a bit of housework and brushing his teeth.

I think that he has decided he is emotionally closed and can't/won't change. He does slightly strike me that he was hoping for a 23 year old blonde, beach babe and while Lucinda is a good laugh he just doesn't fancy her.

3luckystars · 19/03/2024 07:37

Yes but I’m the opening of the show, day 1, it showed a clip of big Tim sobbing, like bawling his eyes out into his hands, so I wonder what that was about.

MaggieFS · 19/03/2024 07:38

Yes, I'd agree with that @MagpiePi . I think they have the stubbornness and experience of being older, and I don't think either will change sufficiently for them to be more than friends.

Floatinginvacherin · 19/03/2024 07:39

Lucinda does show how poor the personal boundaries of many people on this show are. Even when Tim is being a dick it’s clear she’s there as a deliberate choice and that her personal wellbeing really matters to her. I have no doubt that she will walk if the cons firmly outweigh the pros for her.

User364837 · 19/03/2024 09:43

Hate to say it but I found last night’s episode quite dull. As usual they’d already shown the best bits on the preview and made it look more dramatic than it actually was!

I don’t think elder Tim is arrogant so much as immature, bolshy when drunk, and insecure.

MaggieFS · 19/03/2024 09:49

There is so much repetition. I hate shows that do that. As if I can't even remember what happened before the ad break.

We always have to watch it later on anyway, so it's great to skip the ads and recaps. We get through it in less than an hour!

We do too, drives us mad otherwise.

Floatinginvacherin · 19/03/2024 10:56

We’ve never watched it live. Far too early. So we know nothing of any ads.

If you're into star-signs (I sort of am and sort of am not) elder Tim is Gemini and Lucinda is Cancer. One of my best friends (Cancer) was in a relationship a bit like this, she loved her SO and he loved her but long term she was a bit of a train wreck with a drink problem and though he liked that side of her, she kept on pushing and was incredibly patient with him, they lived together. She'd tell me, 'we never argue' and I'd say 'that's not normal'. When they finally broke up (she had an affair) she realised and said to me 'not arguing wasn't normal'. He was basically putting up with her stuff for a quiet life.

To me, Lucinda drove me mad at first with her new age hippy stuff and the 'voice' but I like now, that she's less nuturing, less prepared to put up with Tim's crap but overlooked things with him because she liked him.

Run for the hills Ellie!

I hope she does - at the moment It's hope over reality. He's strongly future faking her, talking about having children "in the future", wasting her fertility years whilst he lies and disrespects her. Sadly I think her cousin had it right on the wedding day - Ben is there primarily to promote himself and his business. If Ellie doesn't see him clearly and act accordingly she will get seriously hurt. 🌹

dapsnotplimsolls · 18/03/2024 19:49

It'll be hilarious if Lucinda writes Leave.

I think there's just too much for her to unravel - he's in a deep canyon of negativity and seems unwilling to do anything which might help improve his future life, instead keeping a lid on things and exploding when things get too tough. He needs serious therapy but is unlikely to undertake this because it's likely to be painful a process to go through. 🌹

murasaki · 19/03/2024 11:56

Lucinda is colluding with the ixperts in the fantasy that she can 'fix' Tim the Elder. She neither can nor should be made to.

OoohLovelySlippers · 19/03/2024 12:17

"Pawing at her with his lobster claws" OMFG, dead!

Yeah, I'm fast forwarding through a lot of it this year. It's gone off the boil. Next year they just need to put them all in a house with loads of booze and let them have an 24/7 orgy/dinner party.

Rosiiee · 19/03/2024 12:36

Can I just say something really b*tchy- I’m not surprised Sara is single!!!! She is MEAN!

murasaki · 19/03/2024 13:13

To be fair to Aldi Andrew Tate, which I don't want to be, for all he was pawing at Tori , she was clinging onto him on the sofa like a limpet when they were back from the couch , clearly they have a plan to put out a vibe that they can't keep their hands off each other when we know it's not true.

murasaki · 19/03/2024 13:17

I'm also amused that Tim the Younger always calls Sara 'Sara' not 'Sarah' and she doesn't call him out on it, at least not in front of the ixperts, whereas she was positively bitchy to Cass when she quite reasonably did the same.

Is this some pass agg stuff from him in public where she won't hit back in case she looks bad? If so, go Tim the Younger.

Ducksinthebath · 19/03/2024 13:19

What was going on with Aldi Andrew Tate's hairline yesterday? It looked like a pound shop Halloween wig.

It really did 🤣

Heh, totally!

I am getting to the point that while I despise man buns, I wish Jayden would put his back. Once I saw the cowardly lion comparison, I can't unsee it. Kudos to the poster who noted that.
