Was she the mum of Isaac?? Or is that Yolande

Isaac's mum was called Sheree. I don't think she ever worked at the Minute Mart. Maybe you're thinking of Claudette? She was Vincent's mum.

murasaki · 18/04/2024 16:51

Ah, Claudette of the magnificent bosom. How they managed to bury that I will never know.

lazymum99 · 18/04/2024 17:41

I think Yolande managed the minute mart and then got moved to head office. Or have I just imagined all that??

It was impressive

But so is yolandes

And of course Lola in a coma

I wonder if the school will flag up the lack of documentation re. Britney and Whit, resulting in Whit getting done for abduction or some such?

the80sweregreat · 18/04/2024 19:15

Jelly, if Walford high is as efficient as Walford Nick are , then Britney will be a new pupil there in no time !

I thought that too.

Sumthingsweet · 18/04/2024 19:33

the Yolande story line was weird - her acting was almost laughable

Yeah, you're right.. just hoped there'd be an inkling of some brain cell somewhere Grin

iknowimcoming · 18/04/2024 21:18

I found it so difficult to watch, those poor, poor women and the outrageous injustice of that man smugly repeating the same crime over and over, knowing he'll get away with it Sad

JMSA · 18/04/2024 22:34

SparklyBracelet · 18/04/2024 09:26

Can I stick my head over the parapet and say I thought the actress who plays Yolande over acted. As PPs have said Elaine’s understated performance was much more believable. Poor Yolande tho. I thought young Denzil was likely to have chinned the pastor a few weeks ago.
As for the Whitbrit storyline; utterly ridiculous. Whitney would be so happy with her setup with a baby on the way and her relationship with Zak. She wouldn’t have done such a ludicrous thing

I was 100% certain that she had been raped.
Don't get me wrong, though, her sexual assault was unthinkably awful Sad
What a godawful creep the pastor is ... but his days are truly numbered, I reckon!
For someone like Yolande, to be sexually assaulted is absolutely, life-shatteringly devastating. It reminds me a bit of my deeply religious grandmother, who died of cervical cancer. To have had a smear test would be unthinkable.

newtlover · 18/04/2024 22:42

@JMSA that's awful, your poor grandma RIP
religion has a lot to answer for in so many ways

SparklyBracelet · 18/04/2024 22:43

@JMSA Oh really? Yes I hadn’t thought of that kind of impact. Bloody awful. What an oily creep he is

Fiddlersgreen · 18/04/2024 22:45

Wow what a powerful episode.
I wasn't concentrating and didn’t realise it was an hour long until about 45 mins in and I thought it had been on a long time!
As I record the episodes to watch an hour or so later than they are on tv, I forward the first bit of recording up to the starting credits so I missed any trigger warnings and had no idea what was coming!
Thought it was very well done and liked the way they integrated the scenes of the other women.

Thank you so much. She was a wonderful woman. But a real Catholic prude!

thisoldcity · 19/04/2024 10:45

I thought last night's episode was quite stunning and very well done, quite ambitious for EE really. I hope she does decide to go to the police about the pastor and I think she will but she hasn't found her anger yet. I'm grateful they didn't show the pastor actually assaulting Yolande as the suggestion of what he did was bad enough - I hate it when they actually show a man grabbing a woman violently, or show him on top of her or whatever, as it must be so triggering for some people watching (or titillating for others, horrible as that is).

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/04/2024 11:03

@JMSA that's what i thought. I said was over Quickly thinking was rape in few mins in cupboard

But obv was sexual assault and fingers where shouldn't go !!!

I really hope they bring him to justice

murasaki · 19/04/2024 12:03

I wondered if Yolande minimised it to Elaine as it was at the limits of what she could bear to say. His MO did seem to be rape going by the flashback bits.

gingercat02 · 20/04/2024 12:56

That was the best (and worst) EE episode in years. The 2 actresses were brilliant.
Such a sad story but I'm sure resonates for many women. I feel for each and everyone one of them 😭💔

Arconialiving · 21/04/2024 11:06

Southeastdweller · 18/04/2024 09:32

I thought Angela Wynter brilliantly conveyed the shock and devastation of Yolande's assault. Harriet Thorpe was great, but it's like comparing apples and oranges - it wasn't Elaine who was violated.

Completely agree. The acting was superb & had me in absolute pieces. The devastation.

bizzey · 21/04/2024 13:46

As an aside ...

Ds messaged me this morning to say he had seen Max Branning in a play yesterday .....and he was very good !! ,🤣😅..

My EE watching has obviously filtered through to them by osmosis !! ,😅

bizzey · 21/04/2024 13:47

Jake seems to be doing very well since he left EE.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/04/2024 15:31

It's prob hard to be a soap as cast as that person for years

Then leave
