Sorry about the unimaginative thread title!

Ben could have saved himself a lot of work by buying in a job lot of Bird's Ice Magic.

The ice cream is the winner

There needs to be more ice-creams on that cart so they try a few different flavours.

Was just saying that to mr eyeballs

I would love Ben's dessert. It's great fun. I suspect he will win too. It's a shame as they have been so supportive of each other and kept their humour and goodwill.

I guess it's not the kind of do where everyone is drunk by dessert, and they'd have more carts, but you'd have to manage people like Ed elbowing others out the way!

Oh, I feel so sorry for Ellie. Ben deserves it. He's really nice. But Ellie is ten times better than Melissa and better than at least half the finalists.

Gutted for Elly but Ben did do an excellent job.

Oh that reminds me of the time I made a dish containing a fair bit of beetroot. The next day at work, I was horrified to find blood in my urine. My helpful colleagues convinced me that I might be dying and I really must ring my GP at the very least. Fortunately I rang my husband first who proclaimed, “oh my god! Me too!” and at that moment the penny dropped. My manager never did let me live that down.

anyway I thought the quality was a real step up this week, across the board, and I’m pleased that it’s my local region.

Really sad Ellie didn’t go through but Ben seemed equally lovely.

@littlbrowndog i can’t remember how the final weeks works.

are they separated in groups again?

All the chefs cook one course per episode, but they’re split into two groups, so one group cooks then the other, probably just to manage space in the kitchen (and access to the blast chiller!) then the judges pick their favourite dish for that course. Unless I’m remembering it wrong or they’ve changed it! 😂
