Sorry about the unimaginative thread title!

Finished dishes lack in presentation. Serving half cooked or imprecise dishes.

Needs ropes round the plate and a bell to ring when it’s served

Yes, I think I actually prefer the likes of Adam Handling being such a perfectionist and so determined to win that he threw a sweary strop in frustration with himself.

Surely his chocolate bar should have been based on a Snickers? Missed a trick there!

The finals week is going to be incredibly unbalanced. Lots of chefs with no chance of making the banquet.

Disappointed this week

We were just saying about Spencer's dessert. It was incredible.

The calibre of the chefs this year (with one or two exceptions) has been pretty poor I think. Mr Wine has just said that he doesn't think some of them have ever seen the show and have no idea what it's all about.

I feel like I’d really like Lottie’s food, she’s just not getting on well with the pressure/time/strange kitchen.

They definitely seem to have forgotten about the brief. I agree that Lottie doesn't seem to be happy about the criticism of her dishes.

This week has been so bloody disappointing. In fact the whole series is nothing compared to previous years.

I think the lower standard this year reflects how much hospitality is struggling at the moment.

Obviously we can't tell what stuff tastes like, but there have been very few really creative links to the brief.

Melissa's food looks delicious though, I want to go where her food truck is.

Also, in NI there are relatively few chefs creating food at GBM level (hardly anybody lives here ), so the ones that do the competition either have balls of steel to put themselves up for criticism, or they've never watched the programme.

There were some excellent chefs from the NI region in previous years.
