Or Call Saint Turner, as the show has really turned into.

Take a drink: Every time Violet calls Fred “Fred Buckle!” instead of of just “Fred”.
🍷🍷🍷

Agree about the plausibility. That situation with May's mother just wouldn't have happened.

Anyone attempting the drinking game, remember to place a pint of water and 2 paracetamol on the bedside table before you begin. And maybe the same next to the sofa in case you don't make.it as far as the bed.

Dioralite is better to prevent hangovers 😂

SoundTheSirens · 08/02/2024 20:58

I’d be totally in if CTM were shown on Fridays or Saturdays, but it’s a school night FGS - I’d be groaning at my desk on Monday morning! 😂

When I was 2, my dm was standing talking to someone and I decided to wander off. The whole neighbourhood was out looking for me for a long time. I was eventually found chatting to a wee boy quite some distance away. One of the neighbours took me in for a while so my dm could calm down and to avoid me getting a good 'leathering' which is apparently what I deserved. When I look back on this story as a mum, it horrifies and mystifies me how the 2 yo me was getting the blame and not my mum who was too caught up in her conversation to notice me walking off! Classic 70s parenting.

I watched Who Do You Think You Are with Boy George, and his (I think) GM wandered away from outside her house, and was taken into care!

JSMill · 09/02/2024 16:55

Oh goodness! I wished I'd known that when my dm was still alive! I'd have teased her with it!

It was quite a sad story. He went back to the street and stood on the corner where she was found, and they pointed out her front door which was about 10 feet away!

The families were living 8 to a room so children played outside all day. The 'Welfare' seemed to go round picking them up and putting them in orphanages to be trained as domestic servants. Awful.

JSMill · 09/02/2024 18:45

Gosh that's really sad.

Horrace · 09/02/2024 22:36

I just watched sister Monica Joan playing the vicars wife alongside the lovely Richard Briers in an old Midsomer Massacre.
She was a right missery

Judy Parfitt has had a fantastic 70 year career - first role 1954! Amazing.

PastorCarrBonarra · 10/02/2024 10:04

Judy was in The Charmer with Nigel Havers. Great series.

MarilynBoo · 10/02/2024 10:34

Judy Parfitt is magnificent in Dolores Claiborne, alongside Kathy Bates. It's based on a Stephen King story.

"Sometimes, Dolores, being a bitch is all a woman has to hold on to".

Incredible actress with a huge range.

FiveFoxes · 11/02/2024 13:16

I saw a bit on Facebook about space fever in 1969 including a child dressed up! Reminded me of CTM and the comments about no dressing up on this thread. I can't share the FB link, but scroll down this page for a picture (actually lots of interesting pictures):

Thanks for that @FiveFoxes a brilliant resource. I must look through my childhood photos to see if I can contribute something.

medicalmysterymachine · 11/02/2024 19:54

Are we all ready for the drinking game?

LimberlostLark · 11/02/2024 20:01

I cannot actually drink because I have work in the am. But I'm here for the laughs...

Elderflower14 · 11/02/2024 20:03
