No. They can't do it like that, it has to be a fair competition.

They might edit a couple of short sword draws - but they wouldn't be able to alter the actual competition.

I completely agree, and that's what I was trying to say - it is all fair and above board. There is only one draw. And one genuine result, not influenced in any way by the production team.
Harry won the sword fair and square. But he might not have been stood in the last place. He might have been in the second position (for example) But they edit it to look like he was the last player up because it's more dramatic that way. Then they do some pick up shots/reshoot certain parts to get all the angles they need and for continuity.
Or it might have been filmed out of sequence so they did the draw before 'choosing' where on the star to stand. So the shots of them walking up to the stone were actually filmed after they had drawn the swords.
They must film things several times anyway because we see it from multiple angles, long shots and close ups etc and yet we never see a cameraman in the background.
I wonder if they do similar with breakfast, especially in the early stages. Otherwise surely the contestants will cotton on to the fact that the last ones to enter breakfast are almost always faithfuls (because of the cliff hanger over who has been murdered).
