@crabbyoldbat

Agreed - but they seem to make it up as they go along in other areas of the game 'Ie no murder tonight'. I don't know about any of the regulations though.

This has happened in every other series so not really making it up. If they'd be paying attention, they would have known there was no murder on the last night.

Re the share or steal - this only happens if there are only traitors left. If it gets down to Harry, Andrew and Mollie, there is literally no point then voting her out as the result is the same regardless. What may happen in that scenario, is that Harry & Mollie both ask for another vote and vote Andrew out, leaving Harry to get the money.

I'm trying, I'm trying. Do we need to talk about the weather again?

IGotItFromAgnes · 26/01/2024 15:12

I wonder whether there will be something unexpected in the final. Kind of hoping so.

Twonewcats · 26/01/2024 15:13

In yesterday's challenge challenge when they'd to name those who've been murdered, nobody mentioned Sonja.

I never use the word ‘hammy’ and never hear ut used either . However, Sophie Ellis Baxter used it in ‘Uncloaked’…

CaveMum · 26/01/2024 15:14

@MaggieFS bright and breezy here in Suffolk!

Has anyone read Claudia’s book? A friend was raving about it, think I might get the audiobook when my next Audible credit comes through.

Twonewcats · 26/01/2024 15:14

So that's another point that makes it better to be a traitor - you could win the entire pot of cash, but if you're a faithful the maximum you can win is 50% of it.

She was banished rather than murdered wasn’t she?

Sonja was banished. Remember Diane's Big Cheer??

Riverlee · 26/01/2024 15:22

@MaggieFS Sunny and lovely blue skies here - almost feels spring like. Had a lovely walk with dog this morning.

I don’t think anyone will turn on Mollie unless someone cleverly starts pointing fingers about how she’s escaped all suspicion. At this stage of the game, you only need one allies, and then you’re almost guaranteed another person will follow (sheep) to secure your target.

AddieLoggins2 · 26/01/2024 15:24

No. They can't do it like that, it has to be a fair competition.
*
They might edit a couple of short sword draws - but they wouldn't be able to alter the actual competition.
*
I completely agree, and that's what I was trying to say - it is all fair and above board. There is only one draw. And one genuine result, not influenced in any way by the production team.

Harry won the sword fair and square. But he might not have been stood in the last place. He might have been in the second position (for example) But they edit it to look like he was the last player up because it's more dramatic that way. Then they do some pick up shots/reshoot certain parts to get all the angles they need and for continuity.

Or it might have been filmed out of sequence so they did the draw before 'choosing' where on the star to stand. So the shots of them walking up to the stone were actually filmed after they had drawn the swords.

They must film things several times anyway because we see it from multiple angles, long shots and close ups etc and yet we never see a cameraman in the background.

I wonder if they do similar with breakfast, especially in the early stages. Otherwise surely the contestants will cotton on to the fact that the last ones to enter breakfast are almost always faithfuls (because of the cliff hanger over who has been murdered).

Twonewcats · 26/01/2024 15:29

Ah yes, Sonja was banished - thanks!

Ruminate2much · 26/01/2024 15:43

I don't want to get too excited about tonight, after getting crazily excited on Wednesday, only to end up utterly deflated after such a disappointing episode. I got reeled back in last night, so I'm hoping for a Jaz win (with either one or both of the other faithfuls) But I mustn't set myself up for too much disappointment!

Really hoping Jaz says the right things at the right time to the right people. If it works out I'll be overjoyed. If it all goes pear-shaped, then I'll have to remind myself it is just a game, and be philosophical. That's what I'm telling myself anyway!

It's only disappointing if you're on the wrong team Wink

Bouledeneige · 26/01/2024 15:48

I think Jas is the smartest faithful in there but I think it's going to be hard for him to start focusing on Harry in the final if he's not laid any clues or questions about him earlier. The others are very blinkered in not considering that as a traitor winning the shield was perfect cover.

I think I'd either Jas or Harry to win. Jas because he's been smarter than most of the faithfuls in his insights and Harry because he's played a damn good game.

I didn't watch last year so I'm not sure how the final works. Is it a series of banishments till 2 remain?

MeinKraft · 26/01/2024 15:49

Who on earth is Sonja 🤣

@CaveMum are you near the sea? You have some beautiful coastline in Suffolk (and Sizewell 😂).

@Riverlee Absolutely - today was the first day and I've looked out and thought about Spring.

MaggieFS · 26/01/2024 16:03

I would be really surprised if the do retakes.

This is a good read about Mafia game which Traitors is based on:
