TRIGGER POINT. SUNDAY ITV 9pm. TV PACE. NO SPOILERS

Vicky McClure is back for a second season, but her late partner Joel "Nut" Nutkins won't return after he was killed in a spectacular opening episode of the first series.

Mark Stanley, who played Wash's slightly clingy boyfriend DI Thom Youngblood reprises his role and Wash's EXPO team, John Hudson (Kris Hitchen), Hassan Rahim (Nabil Elouahabi) and Danny (Eric Shango) also return.

Bomb data expert Sonya Reeves (Kerry Godliman) is back, which is good news for Wash as she became Wash's most trusted colleague following Nut's death. Kevin Eldon, who played Wash's father Jeff, also returns.

In episode one of the second season, Lana is just back from secondment training Ukrainian bomb disposal teams, but has not returned to active duty.

She is giving a routine talk to security officers from major financial institutions about the issues surrounding bomb centred terrorism, when there is a bomb attack in the heart of the city. Lana is closest to the incident, but is she ready to take it on?"

Series two could also delve further into Vicky's personal life, although whether she'll still be with DI Thom Youngblood is another matter.

Their relationship seemed strained at the best of times, so her fling with Karl Maguire will hardly have helped things...

I only watched episodes 1-4 within the last 2 days.

I did wonder whether Lana's mum might kill herself before she could get to speak to her.

Then her dad could make Lana feel guilty for her not calling her.

I know it's the show and she's the main character but I keep thinking there just be a team B, C, D that can come in and takeover.

Her ex died and it's non stop 😂

aband · 28/02/2024 06:59

Was Alex guy (forgot his name) in series 1. I recognise him and the storyline.

I don't know why but Lana's hair irritates me. I loved her (vickie's) short hair.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/02/2024 15:02

Not sure tbh

I don't think Alex was in S1. Can't remember him.

I agree with you about Vicky's hair. And her new gaff. I loved the front room she had with the white blinds and blue sofa. She seems to have moved to a flat now?

She's never home enough to use an oven.

martinisforeveryone · 01/03/2024 10:29

I’ve given up on it. After the portaloo and Land Rover debacle it pushed any credibility too far for me, even as a drama with plot holes.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/03/2024 13:11

E6 tonight

So THAT'S why we've been seeing all the annoying parents arguments!

EveryKneeShallBow · 03/03/2024 21:30

What an absolute load of ballcocks.

ageingdisgracefully · 03/03/2024 22:04

Not sure I understood that last bit...

Lana is wearing a very non-Lana outfit to the wedding.

Danny survived though. As did Mam and Dad. Happy days. And Julian Ovenden is a bit of alright, even if he is an arsehole.

daffodilandtulip · 03/03/2024 22:06

I spent that last bit expecting a bomb to go off on the dance floor 🤣

Clawdy · 03/03/2024 22:53

Me too! Or for something odd to happen.

Janiie · 04/03/2024 08:33

'Lana is wearing a very non-Lana outfit to the wedding.'

Yes those pufted sleeves! it was like a bridesmaid dress from the 80s Shock. I quite liked the last scene, everyone having fun and getting on.

I did think the last ep was gripping but a couple of clangers.. who would put an expo alone in the back of the van with all the equipment! Yes it was all locked up but as we saw Lana was very resourceful surely you'd have her up front with someone keeping an eye on her and why didn't anyone seem to notice and panic with all the armed police descending on the weird Home Sec's bomb presentation.

All in all though I thought was good. Poor man in the helmet though, ike the collar bomb bit of unnecessary gore imo.

ageingdisgracefully · 04/03/2024 12:43

The last half hour or so kinda washed over me. I wasn't concentrating properly after Alex's demise.

So the knock on the door of the family home during last week's episode was the people coming to rig up the device?🤔

butterpuffed · 04/03/2024 13:56

I expected something to happen at the wedding as well, as it switched so quickly from the seriousness of what was going on .

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/03/2024 16:40

Well I enjoyed that

Clever to swap /reroute Phone to their van and bang

Tho bit puzzled how the bomb was in the van if was meant to be in lanas hands

She pushed her boss to the floor to save him so not all bad

And yah the wedding happened

All was good

I hope they do a s3

@Blondeshavemorefun she said she wouldn't get the bomb past the increased security but could build another bomb inside

Samcro · 05/03/2024 15:19

loved the ending. we enjoyed the fact that she re routed the bomb in the van.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/03/2024 17:57

Was very clever

We've belatedly binge watched the whole series this week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lana is a particularly spiky and abrasive character, but we loved it when she called the commander a brown nosed twat. We actually cheered when the appalling leader of the group and her sidekick got blown up in the van.

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 19/02/2024 19:34

I found it funny that two people stated that there was enough explosives to destroy the big house but it did no worse than knock Lana over as she was running away less than 30 meters from the explosion. Dh was also very impressed that in less than 2 minutes she managed to locate a Land Rover, hitch it up and drive it away. It takes him longer than that to reverse and line up the hitching point between his Land Rover and trailer even with someone guiding him back. That said I'm enjoying the show.

Just watched that episode.
We're only getting it now in Ireland Sad
I thought it was daft too that they said the bomb could have blown up the whole house yet it didn't do much damage when Lana blew it up.
