I thought Phil paid £100k to Sam's drug dealer bloke?

the80sweregreat · 19/01/2024 21:48

Was it 100,00 k ? Blimey
No wonder he wanted to keep her cut and she was working for free too

murasaki · 19/01/2024 21:51

Phil's magic money tree is doing very well in this cold snap.

murasaki · 19/01/2024 21:52

I did think Kat was great in the last two episodes. Jessie Wallace can really act when she wants to.

AutumnalLeaves38 · 20/01/2024 03:03

Kat + Nish...um...'quiche'

For that alone, it's a firm nope from me.

I’m gutted that Alfie seems to be working his way back into a major storyline. Literally cannot stand him.

He's a manchild loser. A bit like the husband in Mrs Doubtfire.

Absolutely!

the80sweregreat · 20/01/2024 09:03

Quiche ! Love it
Seems the way to solve any problem ( if you live there ) is to sit on Arthur's bench looking lost / drunk and people offer you a place to live or money !

Dramasloth · 20/01/2024 09:25

I love Alfie!! Well, Shane Ritchie because let’s face it he’s only playing himself x

Eastie77Returns · 20/01/2024 09:31

Jessie Wallace can definitely pull it out of the bag when they give her a proper storyline to work with. I think in comparison to other soaps most of the actors on EE are pretty good. Even George’s daughters have grown on me. Peter and Nugget remain abysmal though and have shown no improvement whatsoever.

Phil’s money is an enduring mystery. On top of the £200k plus he has casually written off (although maybe he has his contacts looking out for Karen & Mitch in Spain) he is bankrolling Louise & Peggy in Portugal, supported 3 stepsons until recently plus assume he pays something towards Raymond. I still can’t work out where his income actually comes from. The £50k Karen stole was dodgy so assume he has a thriving criminal side hustle - but doing what!

Dramasloth · 20/01/2024 10:49

I agree. I really like the two girls now x

murasaki · 20/01/2024 11:05

Wasn't Phil laundering money through chicken shops at one point? I'm not sure where the initial cash that needed to be laundered came from though.

the80sweregreat · 20/01/2024 11:48

Phil's house must be worth a small fortune and he purchased it years ago. I doubt he has a mortgage left.
He has a share of the gym
He sold the chicken shops to Nish last year for a hefty profit and was then seen in a Range Rover a few days later ( only seen him in it once when Dee asked him to have Raymond so she could sneak off with Ravi and not have sex with him , but it looked fairly new)
He sold on the Arches to Ben at one stage which Sharon now owns. He may have given it to him though ? Not sure , but surely some money must have changed hands back then ?
(Sharon needs a new mechanic as her old one is dead)
He also runs Peggy's
However, he is getting through the cash lately and his latest 33k inheritance won't go that far

the80sweregreat · 20/01/2024 11:49

Phil went off to Spain ' to do some business' a few years ago , I always imagined he loosely deals in drugs but it's not made clear

Eastie77Returns · 20/01/2024 12:13

Ah yes, he did go to Spain to conduct business so maybe something there.

Grant lives in Portugal and runs some kind of business that is apparently doing well as Billy went there last year to work for him and came back flush. So maybe Phil owns part of whatever that enterprise is as well. The Range Rover was indeed seen once and never again😂. People only own vehicles when it suits. Before Mitch left I had never seen the van he drove off in.

Speaking of Billy, trying to work out the Mitchell family tree…is he Phil’s first cousin? If so his dad who turned up to the funeral is Phil’s uncle? But is he a maternal or paternal uncle because Peggy only had a sister, Aunt Sal, and Phil’s dad only had one brother Archie?

Totally confused myself just writing that😂

the80sweregreat · 20/01/2024 12:23

I'm not sure about Billy's parentage or relationship with the Mitchell's , even the flash back episode last year ( which was really excellent) didn't make it that clear. The ones playing young Billy and Phil were good.
Years ago people did call distant relatives or close family friends ' aunt or uncle ' even though they were not , but Billy is a Mitchell ?
The dad showing up on Monday was odd and maybe he'll rock up later on ? .. Phil wasn't pleased to see him at all was he!
It Might all link back to the Keeble story or some other Mitchell secret.

the80sweregreat · 20/01/2024 12:26

Re Mitch's van
When he first appeared in the show he was a plumber and the van was always on its last legs
Over time he became a cab driver working for Kat and I assumed the van had been scrapped !
Until the night they did a flit with the dodgy money , then it magically appears
Bit like Phil's flash car

bizzey · 20/01/2024 12:48

I think Phil's dad and Billy's dad were cousins .
So P and B are 2nd cousins (?) ..

But in big , close family's ...everyone are just cousins !

My cousin's children are just cousins to my children...and their grandchildren are also just cousins !!...

No way would I be able to sort out the 1st/2nd/3rd cousin and once removed/twice/tree times removed parts ,🤣🤣🤣!

the80sweregreat · 20/01/2024 13:00

My dad used to say that my cousin's children were my ' first cousin once removed ' which ( as a small child) I had visions of people being ' removed ' ! Not sure if that was just an old persons expression or something he made up tbh ! Hard to get your head around if you have a large family as we did

mrswhiplington · 20/01/2024 14:40

the80sweregreat · 19/01/2024 20:11

I don't mind the vicar tbh , but I was concerned about Denise's wild hair and Yolanda's awful beige trousers ( I know I'm not a fashionista myself, but she could do better than those )

I noticed Yolande's trousers too. They had stitched in seams. I remember having some like that as a kid in the 70s.

the80sweregreat · 20/01/2024 15:37

I also had ' stitched in seam' trousers in the 70s too 😮, probably why I clocked them on her.
Mine were black I think ? My mum had a beige pair like Yolande's
There is a small ladies clothes shop in my town that sells these type of trousers so must be a call for them.

the80sweregreat · 20/01/2024 15:43

It's often mentioned on these threads about the family trees of the various families and becomes more complex when people have affairs or ons that result in even more children ( ie, Linda having a Branning child, the Mitchell's also procreating with Brannings, Phil getting everyone pregnant )

30 seconds of Phil hilarity:
s

Eh?

Those are brilliant 🤩
