Talking of Karen, I decided to watch the first episode of call the midwife as I've not watched it before.

The opening scene was Karen scrapping in the street with her blouse ripped open exposing her 1950's style bra.

It was even more out of character for Mitch. - if I remember correctly, Mitch was well dodgy when he was first introduced. Stole some cash that Patrick had put through the communal letterbox for Ted?

Have to say my heart sank when the episode was set in Paris on NYE etc. Can’t we get on with the Keanu/Nish saga? Suppose they’ve got to update the storylines

Worse is that Kathy was apparently upstairs in her room.

He's just so unconvincing as a player.
Old Peter was perfect, good looking and just sleazy enough
I keep expecting this one to suddenly burst into something by Steps

No , they must have travelled by plane as it showed a plane taking off and Penny said something like

Penny definitely mentioned a flight on New Year's Day.
Why they were not seized the French side I'm not sure unless Penny put them in there after they landed in London

Yes they flew and looked like Gatwick to me when landed and inside

Yes, Lauren did drink and do drugs I think so anyway !
But

The Nish/Keanu story won't necessarily continue immediately, as they'll only have been able to film a certain amount of scenes while it was still secret.

I also hated the Paris story, which seemed to continue the myth that you can see the Eiffel Tower from every window in Paris 😆
When the filming goes elsewhere, it always seems so forced and really out of place.

Whenever they go ' on location ' it's generally somewhere lovely isn't it? Yet they all seem to prefer the old east end and Walford and back they come !

Yes the hotel in Paris definitely had an on-set vibe. Cindy left a lovely place in France to go back to the square. I would have stayed put.
