I agree, wrong decision. There's no point in having a first day if it's all about the showstopper.

I think Josh can feel properly gutted about that decision especially with Paul adding in that unnecessary comment about his showstopper being boring

Josh and Dan were stronger throughout the series. Feels like they just judged it on that last showstopper.

Bless Matty though, he looked so happy!!

Yep, Matty is a sweet guy but it's ridic that he won. He won it for being cute and charming not for his baking abilities.

Loved the pic of Josh and his giant marrow though!

Josh looked disappointed, I felt for him.
Dan knew he wasn’t going to win but still seemed so happy.
I thought Matty was going to propose when he went to Lara and said he needed her. It was lovely to see him win.

Josh looked gutted. He wasn’t my favourite contestant but I wouldn’t have begrudged him the win.

Josh has been robbed. Matty has improved, Dan ballsed it up but Josh has been consistently the best.

Matty is lovely but Josh should have been crowned 👨‍🍳

Josh was best through the whole series - looks like Matt won it on one cake. Josh’s cake did look awful though really messy. So unlike him what a shame

I love Matty and I'd have eaten his eclairs and chocolate cake all day long, but I think Josh should have won.

It felt like a slightly underwhelming finale this year, quite a contrast to say, 2021, when Giuseppe, Crystelle and Chigs produced amazing final bakes.

I thought Dan and Josh, or even Tasha, were more talented bakers but alas the judges don't seem to take past performance into account and Matty did the best on the last day.

Felt sorry for Josh - he has been the best performer throughout the series.

Josh had more technically difficult elements - swiss meringue buttercream, jam, the biscuit greenhouse.

When they showed clips of their previous bakes at the start, Josh's all looked amazing from day 1, head and shoulders above the others. I'm gutted for him, he was by far the best allround baker there.

And he piped his decoration. Matty daubed a few patches of colour and slapped on a bit of gold leaf. He just happens to be a better personality and more suited to future tv.

Couldn't believe the result. Well done to Matty but Josh was robbed. He was consistently better throughout and even on the previous day. They were so harsh on his final bake.

I think the most marketable baker won 😉

I wonder who the winner is actually chosen by, I assume there’s a team and it’s not just Paul and Prue.

Yeah Josh was the best baker, consistent every week. And even in tonight’s he won the technical (Mattie’s was a disaster!) And personally I thought Josh’s showstopper looked far better than Mattie’s.
Perhaps Josh was a little to quiet and not enough of a “cheeky chappie”

I'm actually outraged. Matty is lovely but that was not a winning performance.

Josh was consistently good through out. My theory is he's a bit dull & won't sell books. For example, Matty is now engaged to his beautiful girlfriend. Josh won an award for his giant marrow.

I'm disappointed Channel 4. Very disappointed.
