I'm going with the aliens scenario.

Maireas · 24/10/2023 20:23

I'm going with the aliens scenario.

Well it could be true and it's on the internet (because I wrote here) and that appears the justification for repeating theories so go for it!

Maireas · 24/10/2023 20:37

I've seen it on the internet.
It's true.

MyCircumference · 24/10/2023 21:18

Aliens is right

SequinsandStiIettos · 24/10/2023 22:16

Ha! Shall I put the X files themed DWTS routine with Allison Holker and Babyface on the video thread?! Grin
Not kidding.
It was an Argentine Tango.
TV themes week.

Thank you for the link 😊

She hasn’t mentioned Giovanni at all…not even the obligatory thank you and acknowledging that he was a great mentor etc . I personally think very rude and disrespectfulShe towards a great professional dancer !

Aquarius1234 · 24/10/2023 22:49

Better not be something tedious like lots of training and just Sunday day off.

SoupDragon · 24/10/2023 22:59

Didn't people say right from the start that Amanda didn't seem to be getting on with Giovanni?

I never saw it myself mind you.

I hope she's OK.

springbabydays · 24/10/2023 23:12

I thought that was just tabloid tattle engineered by the TRA brigade @SoupDragon

Does anyone really think she'd have taken this on if her fiance being in a wheelchair would have made any difference whatsoever? Of course not. They are clearly very close and would have made that decision together. He's been nothing but supportive all the way through.

I think if it really was a medical issue she would have been more communicative about it. Didn't she have a problem with a toenail earlier in the competition?

Whatever has happened I'll miss her! Hope to see her making kooky videos on Instagram again soon.

OutOfSyncWithReality · 24/10/2023 23:15

I'm sure there were tabloid pics of Amanda on Friday looking absolutely exhausted. The training and trolling must have taken a real toll on her mental health. I'm not altogether surprised.

EvilRingahBitch · 24/10/2023 23:19

Anyway. Halloween.

I'm most intrigued by Angela S's Paso. I think this is make or break for her. I've said all along that she's highly trained in a dance form where the floor looks like it's red hot, so she's struggling with dances where you need to embrace the floor, which means almost all ballroom, rumba, arguably AT, and, intermittently, paso. Can she turn it around and embrace her inner Isaac Newton?

I'd previously have put her as a shoo-in for the finals but now we're down to a three person final she's looking iffy - it's getting interesting.

The other thing about a three person final is that whoever's bottom of the leaderboard in the semifinal is almost certain to be in the dance-off and hence probably go home, so it means that the path to the final for Krishnan, which was always unlikely, becomes pretty much impossible however popular he is. I'd love to see him continuing to improve and get a long way though. Ditto Nigel needs to tighten up his act, I don't think anyone's going to be making the final based on popularity alone.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/10/2023 23:22

Is there a list of songs and dances on the thread? I can't see one, I may be being dim.

EvilRingahBitch · 24/10/2023 23:29

It was a long way upthread

Here it is again:

Adam and Luba: American Smooth to Magic Moments by Perry Como
Annabel and Johannes: Tango to Need U Tonight by INXS
Angela R and Kai: Charleston to Murder She Wrote (TV Theme)
Angela S and Carlos: Paso Doble to BLACK swan SWAN lake by District 78
Bobby and Dianne: Cha Cha to Come-On-A-My-House by Della Reese
Ellie and Vito: Salsa to Murder On The Dancefloor by Sophie Ellis-Bextor
Krishnan and Lauren: Viennese Waltz to Kiss From A Rose by Seal
Layton and Nikita: Tango to Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo
Nigel and Katya: Cha Cha to I Was Made For Lovin’ You by KISS
Zara and Graziano: Charleston to Jeepers Creepers by Al Donahue and his Orchestra

I love Kiss from a Rose. David James and Nadiya did a lovely VW (or possibly waltz) to it in Movie Week, hampered only slightly by his total lack of talent.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/10/2023 23:32

How is Kiss From A Rose Hallowe'en? Surely they aren't doing Batman again ? (Theme Song)

MouseMinge · 24/10/2023 23:41

I was just talking to a friend and told her about Angela R and the Murder She Wrote Charleston with typewriter faffing and her response was "They must really want her to go home this week." I can't imagine it being anything but excruciating.

One of my worries with Angela S is not so much her but Carlos's choreography. Arguably her best dances so far have been the jive and the Charleston and I know that the latter is generally choreographed by someone other than the professional dancer and I think that might be true of the jive too? Either way, he's doing too much saccharine choreography and it does her no favours because it doesn't fit her personality. Yes, she needs to breathe better and feel the floor better but she's getting there and will get there. He needs to up his choreography though.

I had the final when it was four people being Layton and three of Nigel, Angela S, Ellie and Amanda. Now it's two of Nigel, Angela S and Ellie and I think Ellie is the only one I'd put strong money on being in the final with Layton. The floor is open for the third person.

EvilRingahBitch · 24/10/2023 23:48

Jive is choreographed by the pros, it's only AT, Salsa, Charleston and (usually) couple's choice which aren't.

I agree that Ellie seems the second safest bet for the final.

TheMadGardener · 25/10/2023 01:02

I fear Angela and Carlos's paso will be a let-down after Ellie and Vito's paso. Carlos's choreography doesn't seem very exciting.
Looking forward to Ellie and Vito's salsa, they've got a banging tune.
Intrigued by the Murder She Wrote Charleston - could be great fun, could be awful.

Fearing the worst for Zara's Charleston and fully expecting to see it in the dance-off.
Nervous for Annabel's tango - could go unexpectedly well but will probably get slaughtered by judges.
I predict either a Zara vs Adam or Zara vs Annabel dance-off, but hope Annabel and Johannes stay longer than Adam or Zara.
Also rooting for Krishnan to stay a good long time. He might be a Chris Ramsey who gets to the semi-final on public goodwill.

SequinsandStiIettos · 25/10/2023 01:13

Adam and Luba: American Smooth to Magic Moments wizard/witch?
Annabel and Johannes: Tango to Need U Tonight by INXS great music but curious as to how they'll theme it. I'd have gone for werewolves but can't see Annabel as a werewolf
Angela R and Kai: Charleston to Murder She Wrote (TV Theme) kitsch. Hopefully curse of the wig will happen
Angela S and Carlos: Paso Doble to BLACK swan SWAN lake by District 78 might be good
Bobby and Dianne: Cha Cha to Come-On-A-My-House by Della Reese trick or treaters or gingerbread house?
Ellie and Vito: Salsa to Murder On The Dancefloor by Sophie Ellis-Bextor choon
Krishnan and Lauren: Viennese Waltz to Kiss From A Rose by Seal wouldn't mind a red suited devil, a red rose and a virginal Lauren in white
Layton and Nikita: Tango to Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo looking forward to them vamping it up
Nigel and Katya: Cha Cha to I Was Made For Lovin’ You by KISS Katya as Bride of Frankenstein?
Zara and Graziano: Charleston to Jeepers Creepers by Al Donahue and his Orchestra scarecrows has been done. Skeletons?

I think Annabel and Johannes said they were going to be devils/demons, unless I imagined that.

covetingthepreciousthings · 25/10/2023 07:07

Im a bit disappointed by the Halloween music choices this year, surely there are more themed music choices that could have been used rather than ones creating strenuous spooky links?

I am however looking forward to Layton & Nikita, but mostly because I've been thinking Nikita would make a good vampire Grin

Edited

I think that’s very unprofessional and unimpressive too.
By contrast, his IG message about her is gracious and dignified.

Maireas · 25/10/2023 09:10

I agree, @MarkWithaC . His message was kind and generous. She didn't mention him.
However, it's easy to judge because we don't know what went on, but she's clearly struggling in some shape or form and I hope she recovers.

even before i knew he was in a wheelchair i did wonder to myself if she had a husband who was feeling jealous

I thought that too...her partner could be jealous then add to that he is in a wheelchair...hmmm.

Thedrownedprophet · 25/10/2023 10:02

Pretty shit of her not to thank him
IMO.

She knew exactly how that would be interpreted in the media, and as someone who has struggled with trolls, I'm she weaponised her own social media this way

He put out a lovely message and tagged her and she ignored it.
