As an actor, Amanda must be used to working with difficult/strict/temperamental/horrible people all the time. I didn't get a great vibe from her partnership with Giovanni but it did seem professional. Perhaps Strictly was meant to be a fun spin-off from the day-job but ended up being too much like the day-job but one where you are spending long hours with the co-star you don't get along with and he's your director too? Who knows? I like her, I thought she was a really good dancer, but because she clearly wasn't enjoying her time on Strictly I found the whole thing a bit uncomfortable.

I really liked Amanda disappointed she has gone…think she would have gone far

Managing 4 dances is a 3rd way through.
Within 2 weeks all will be forgotten.
She was never in the dance off and I don't think would have been for several more weeks.
Quite popular I'd say, hardly a Alexandra Burke type

Amanda didn't need to train as hard as she did, it's up to the celebrities how many hours they can and want to do.

Everyone saying she wasn't enjoying it, was very intense, sarcastic etc, in what ways? DP and I tend early in the series to fast-forward the chat and just watch the dances, judging and scores, so I don't have a feel for any of their personalities really.

I'm very sorry to hear that Amanda Abbington won't be gracing the ballroom any more. She was a joy to watch and so thought she might even win it.

I'd be really really surprised if it was that. She looked every inch the perfectionist to me.

Amanda's initial reaction to having Gio seemed fake to me. Shouting and screaming so much.

For me just by watching her instagram videos leading up to the show and the initial couple of weeks.

Anyone as a partner of a celeb may well feel jealous/threatened etc the strictly curse is a known thing! how many have got together with their dance partners when they already had a partner there is a long list …I can think of many.

Their situation is so what compounded thus:

Amanda has joined SCD…it’s a dancing competition and she turns out to be brilliant AND she actually said she felt like a woman again AND she is dancing with a known womaniser.

Dances are intimate and close by their nature.

She is great on the dance floor with Gio dancing intimately and enjoying herself.

Its not a stretch to see how it could cause an issue for her partner who can no longer walk and has been paralysed in an accident and she is twirling around in a Dance competition = could cause tension on the home front. He can’t do that activity ever again. I feel for him it must be hard to deal with what has unfortunately happened to him. Most people in that situation would feel wistful watching …

I’ve explained it won’t again …it’s quite a possible and plausible situation.

It’s either they couldn’t stand each other or they got on too well…

Shame she left I think she’d have made the final.

Does anyone think its interesting that Amanda put personal reasons rather than mental health reasons?

Some reports I've read this afternoon site "personal reasons" and others say "medical reasons."
I dare say we'll find out eventually. Shame though.

Just read the statement on her instagram. I do think it's very telling that there is absolutely no mention of Gio.. bit odd when thanking everyone else so does lead you to assume perhaps they didn't get along.

Amanda strikes me as a complex woman.

I’m not going to say I warmed to Amanda. It she was a beautiful dancer, shame she’s gone, but I seriously doubt that it would be jealousy from her partner, I doubt she would be Giovannis type and he always look like he’s in love with every dance partner he’s ever had!

even before i knew he was in a wheelchair i did wonder to myself if she had a husband who was feeling jealous

It could be that they were getting on fine but Joe Varney hasn't agreed with her decision to quit so now they have fallen out
It could be that they never got along.
It could be that they have fallen for each other and decided to bale before 'the curse' can take hold.
It could be that Amanda was kidnapped by aliens who have wiped all memory of JV from her mind.
We don't know and anything is just speculation.
