Remember how excited Amanda was to have Gio as her partner? He said he'd never had a reaction like that before. Wonder if shevwas genuine. I mean, he's known to take no prisoners with the training.

It's all speculation, isn't it.
Medical issues is all we know, so maybe that's just what it is.

I feel the opposite. The celebs are under pressure to be self deprecating and not take themselves too seriously, but weepy heart-on-your-sleeve personalities are the kiss of death to the Strictly vote. Alexandra had a hell of a time, Jayde's personal traumas went down like a cup of cold sick, and Ore was in two dance-offs before he managed to win the audience round by taking the piss out of his own natural weepiness.

Whatever's up with Amanda, I wish her well.
I hope this isn't Giovani's last year 😕 I feel sorry for him, going out like this. I'm going to miss seeing him dance (I know he'll still be in the group dances, but it's not the same).

Why would it be Giovanni's last year?

I think people are just speculating it might be as he's launching his own lifestyle brand

I think it's a sideline, would it pay as well as Strictly? Unlikely.

It looks like Giovanni's new venture is called GP Vita, and Companies House describes the nature of business as 'Retail sale of cosmetic and toilet articles in specialised stores'

Anton and Fiona did a nice Charleston to Jeepers Creepers, dressed as scarecrows. I'll put it in the video thread.

The Murder She Wrote theme could be fun, although not immediately saying Charleston to me.

Not sure why I'm saying this because I don't want to add fuel to the fire of any speculation. However I do find it odd that Amanda has paid tribute to the rest of the cast and the production but not Gio specifically

Very sad to see Amanda and gio leave. Loved watching their dances. Honestly I think celebs should avoid all social media if they want to have a life. It’s so toxic

I noticed that too. It's a shame that she's gone. I was enjoying her partnership with Giovanni. Maybe she wasn't.

Quickly scanning the list I remembered the reggae track Murder She Wrote by Chaka Demus, and thought, how on earth are they going to do a Charleston to that?

I'm quite excited for Angela and Carlos' Paso Doble, I think it'll be great!

Kai is doing a really good job with Angela, I think this song is quite fast though.

I would have thought Amanda was too professional and sensible to be deterred by Gio's hard taskmaster ways. That's how she struck me, anyway. Quite tough and hard working.

It would appear from her statement that her and Gio must have had some discord. She knows how media works. It will have been a carefully worded statement. Not to thank her pro or say she'll miss him, speaks volumes.
What will be interesting is whether or not BBC have told her to say nothing specifically and have asked her to do the Xmas final appearance, in order for her to get paid.

So many Halloween songs have been passed on again. Same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie.

Disappointed Amanda has gone she was good and I like Gio. I wonder if her partner wasn’t happy her dancing with a very attractive male and him now in a wheelchair…

I think her husband is a very attractive man - more so than Gio anyway.

I also think there is a lot more to an attractive person than their looks. Wheels don’t change that.

I could appreciate that there may be some wistfulness that he can no longer whisk Amanda round the dance floor like Gio can but I would put money on the reason for Amanda quitting having nothing to do with her husband being ‘put out’.

Everything posted would suggest he has been nothing but supportive of her Strictly adventure.

I agree, I like her much more in punchy numbers like her jive than the sickly ballroom Carlos (or the production team) has given her.

Unless he was previously a highly accomplished pro ballroom and Latin dancer like Giovanni, I suspect he hadn't actually been spending THAT much time comparing himself with him...
