Ahhh Monkseal.
I read Ariadne- when she's good, she's up there with Monkseal but she suffers with MH issues I think and sometimes the blog has quite a strange tone which I think comes from when she's not really feeling it.
She's refusing this year to write about Layton or Annabel which I think is a bit petty.
Still worth a read.

At a quick look, she reads like a Monkseal rip-off, but I may just (still) be bitter about him retiring

Yeah, she acknowledges her awe of Monkseal.

Layton because of the (apparent) TRA stuff, and Annabel because of "what she said about COVID". (I presumed that meant she (A) was some mad Covid -denying anti - vaxxer but it's simply that she said she saw no reason why a tennis tournament shouldn't have gone ahead in 2020 (I think)

That IS quite petty. I wouldn't think well of someone refusing to write about Amanda because of the 'Terf' stuff, so I can't condone someone doing it to Layton. Although I don't actually know anything about his stance on trans issues.
Annabel: well, Novak D's Covid-defying tournament ended with practically all of them laid up with the virus, so I do take her point. But if you didn't write about everyone who had any views you didn't like, you wouldn't have a blog, so she is being a bit silly IMO.

I think it's just that Nancy and Carlos are very close friends. I noticed them always standing near each other last year in the Clauditorium, and it seems to be the case again this year. I think the paps saw them hugging and holding hands last year, but I don't think they're dating.

I do think Carlos and Nancy are close friends and each others cheerleader and protective of each other.

They've danced together in quite a few pro dances this year as well.

Does anybody else miss when the pros were "Anton & Erin" and "Darren & Lilia" and "Flavia & Vincent" rather than just individuals who get randomly paired up in different dances?

Yes I miss the pairings I think that harks back to when they were all still competing and performing together.the last would have been Neil and Katya ,janette and alijaz.

Nancy and Carlos are both about the same height so maybe that's why.

But they don't mention pairings any more.

The music list is up and I am beyond excited and intrigued by Angela and Kai rumba-ing to Conchita Wurst. Who's getting the beard?

Natalie (forgotten her last name, sorry Natalie!) and Ian Waite were probably my favourite pro couple. Or Flavia and Vincent when they wheeled them out to show us how to do an Argentine tango.

Agree Krishnan and Jody might find it's 'not their week'. Annabel though I can see doing a serviceable jive; she's quick and athletic and pretty fit.
I can imagine Amanda and Giovanni's foxtrot being rather good.
Is Karen going to go for a slightly comedic American Smooth? I can't really see how else you'd do a Sex Bomb version.
