Gosh I just googled Brenda Lee singing You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, singing live 13 years ago. I only knew the Dusty Springfield version. Brenda Lee's is beautiful and so emotional. Simple lyrics but quite heartbreaking.

BeaLola · 10/10/2023 19:18

Whilst watching at weekend I said to DH - what slow dance will Angela get next week, probably the Rumba and so she has - it does seem quite "lucky" so far her dances - no salsa, or jive . I

Looking forward to Jody and Annabel

xsquared · 10/10/2023 19:55

I think they're trying to keep Angela R as long as they can by giving her dances that she can keep up with. However, I think the rumba will be a cringe fest!

She nowhere near kept up with a proper quickstep though. It was the slowest quickstep ever and she barely danced a step. Seriously overmarked.

Oh no thank you ! Although Amanda and Giovani's was lovely and not cringe. So hopefully Kai and Angela won't have us curled up in a ball hiding 😄

MouseMinge · 10/10/2023 21:11

I would rather not see Angela R doing a rumba but there you are. It won't be awful but it also won't be good and she'll probably be overmarked.

EsmaCannonball · 10/10/2023 21:16

I honestly hope Angela and Kai do a rumba that is Caligula-levels of camp and filth and then afterwards, when we've all been stunned and slightly soiled by what we've witnessed, Angela immediately goes back to being all prim and chaste and the kind of person who would never utter a word stronger than 'knickers,' making us all seriously question if we've imagined what we've just seen.

@Bluffinwithmymuffin

It's the train back after the ruby wedding anniversary party - the scene is on youtube and shows Mark flying off to New York (which was announced at the party).
Fun Fact - instead of generic "ice cream" prop next to the sofa of despair, production should have come up with a jar of pickle. They couldn't have advertised it as Branston's obviously, but that is what she is comfort eating during that song! Grin

SequinsandStiIettos · 10/10/2023 22:08

Adam and Luba
Waltz to I Wonder Why by Curtis Stigers MOR
Amanda and Giovanni
Foxtrot to Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac only if he dresses as a highway man (niche but the video was based on the narrative poem The Highwayman for reasons best known to Fleetwood Mac)
Annabel and Johannes
Jive to Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man has to go better than Vicky Hope's cha cha to it
Angela R and Kai
Rumba to Rise Like A Phoenix by Conchita Wurst Live for this song. Gutted that Ange is going to ruin it for me
Angela S and Carlos
Viennese Waltz to You Are The Reason by Calum Scott & Leona Lewis a bit dull until the end bit
Bobby and Dianne
Tango to Fashion by David Bowie is this to remind him when to turn to the left turn to the right with his head movementsWink
Eddie and Karen
American Smooth to Sex Bomb by Tom Jones Nope
Ellie and Vito
Samba to Copacabana by Barry Manilow Tis popular on TikTok atm allegedly
Jody and Jowita
Salsa to Samba de Janeiro by Bellini choon
Krishnan and Lauren
Paso Doble to By The Way by Red Hot Chili Peppers Love the song and can see the verse kicking in but it's a bit outré
Layton and Nikita
Cha Cha to Million Dollar Bill by Whitney Houston not my fave Whitney although if they don't go left right up and down when she sings it, I'll be most perturbed
Nigel and Katya
Salsa to Suavemente by Elvis Crespo should work
Zara and Graziano
Viennese Waltz to You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me by Brenda Lee might get bottom two bounce

On music alone, Eddie Sad

Is anyone else struggling to watch ITT this year. I used to love it, but I think Rylan leaving has been the final nail in the coffin, I'm just not enjoying Fleur's presenting at all and that puts me off so then I'm missing the Jeanette episodes.....but I'm wondering if she's improved any on last year.

Houseplanter · 10/10/2023 22:57

@Pashazade I agree. It used to be part of the whole strictly experience. I loved it when Claudia did it. Was ok with Zoe; Rylan was bearable.

Since then it's just got worse and the over the top presenting of Janette and now Fleur is a massive no.

I don't bother anymore.

EsmaCannonball · 10/10/2023 22:57

I'm not enjoying ITT as much. I tend to just have it on in the background. I liked Rylan, but I think with Zoe and Ian Waite leaving, and Joanne Clifton replacing all the other pros who used to do Choreography Corner, the show has lost all its ties with the classic era of Strictly and the more colourful characters who were involved. Fleur is ok but hardly witty and spontaneous and Janette is just a really awkward presenter. The show used to be glitzier and had Tunes on Tuesday, Waite's Wednesday Warm-Up, the hour-long show with the studio audience and Gethin backstage on Fridays, and all those silly items when you got to see Iveta's wardrobe or Aliona's cupboards full of tinned custard. It's very flat and repetitive now, especially as none of the presenters, panellists or competitors are likely to ever say anything controversial. We'll never get another Tristan and Jamelia.

MouseMinge · 10/10/2023 23:03

Yep. I watched a bit less when it was Rylan but he was okay. I've not watched at all this season because even though Rylan was okay, Janette wasn't. She's a lovely dancer she is not a good presenter.

SoIinvictus · 11/10/2023 07:07

I've never watched a lot of ITT but agree that the Claude and Zoe years were the best.
They seem to go up in shoutiness. Rylan and now Fleur have turned it into some manic cbeebies-a-like.
Agree too that Janette isn't a natural presenter/interviewer.

I'd watch it if there was one long show say on a Thursday but every day is too much and they just seem like they're making a cheap half hour filler.

That's going to be a jumpy stoppy starty American Smooth to Sex Bomb.

Bottom two: Zara and...probably should be Jody, but I think it might be the first surprise week. On music and dances alone Eddie or Adam. I think I'm going to like Zara's though on music and classical dance alone. Annabel might be in trouble with a jive. One of the salsa/samba couples might be in trouble as they are dances that have to be good good not just good to make an impression otherwise they all just meld into one "flinging it all abahhht" brightly coloured noisy messes. Bluffinwithmymuffin · 11/10/2023 08:28

@SequinsandStiIettos
Thanks Smile
So I was right the first time, kind of- because of course it's the Darcys ruby wedding party, not their silver. Der. (Rolls eyes in manner of Bridget.)

EsmaCannonball · 11/10/2023 19:02

Victoria Wood: 'They put me in the same dressing room with Frank Carson, Stan Boardman, Bernard Manning and Angela Rippon. And god she knows some filthy jokes.'

Thmssngvwlsrnd · 11/10/2023 19:45

😆@EsmaCannonball I miss Victoria Wood

Diegofrompennyburn · 12/10/2023 07:57

Late thoughts on last week:

What is with the wigs? Kai's looked awful, and did Amanda really need to wear one? As for the cat get up......

I loved the Fosse-Verdun mini series, will have to re-watch it, and Angela/ Carlos did a great job at capturing the Pain routine (but it is a bit marmite)

The Men In Black routine was all right, not a 10 though.

Batman music is dreadful to dance to, and I was very annoyed by all the graphic stuff.

Loved KGM's Money EmCee

The group numbers were beautiful, I always cry to Colours of the Wind. Haven't see the Barbie movie yet, but once I have, I will rewatch that group dance.

EvilRingahBitch · 12/10/2023 08:22

Watching ITT with Karen and Eddie I did see people's point about her body language. You rarely see such clear blue velvet between couples on the couch.

To my untutored ear Everywhere sounds like a really challenging but potentially brilliant song for a foxtrot - very subtle and complex rhythms.

Mrsjayy · 12/10/2023 08:42

They were on GMB this morning and they looked fine, respectfully apart but fine.

ilovebrie8 · 12/10/2023 08:59

Don’t watch ITT now as not a Fleur or Janette fine…they’ve ruined it .

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 12/10/2023 10:17

I've not been able to get Everywhere out of my head since I read the list of tracks on here a couple of days ago. Only just stopped singing Out of Reach :)

Hambleshamble · 14/10/2023 10:42

Really enjoyed ITT last night.
Not looking forward to Angela’s rumba 😲

Lottapianos · 14/10/2023 11:28

Not looking forward to Angela’s rumba 😲'

Same. It's a spectacular song, and deserves an amazing routine, but I'm not sure that's what we're going to get 🤦🏻‍♂️
