It's biassed towards the more clued up, more tactical voters I think, but even so it's pretty persuasive that Ellie, Krishnan and Angela S have a solid voting base that recognises their danger and Eddie and Jody don't. I'm not sure about Zara. I personally thought it was an unconvincing dance sold very well with dry ice, faffing, spinning round and a lovely frock. Will that be enough? I'm pretty sure that it's between Eddie, Jody and Zara for the DO.

On the Digital Spy spoiler thread someone has posted Eddie v Jody with Jody leaving. They have a friend who was in the audience. Not yet confirmed by other sources.

Strictly Spoiler page has just posted the same. Hardly a shock.

I should have voted for Eddie as I don't want him to leave yet. Will do next week. If only Karen would teach him some basic steps. He has rhythm!

He definitely has potential.

Eddie has not yet had a pair of trousers that fit him and he doesn't look that hard to fit. Just for that he needs a vote!

Predictable result last night.
From now on it feels like anyone could go if they have a dodgy dance.

Eddie and Zara next two out I think, then you're into the middling ones like Krishnan or Adam. I definitely got vibes last night that Karen and Eddie are not getting on.

I also think Angela R will struggle with a faster jive/samba/salsa.

Karen's divorce was announced last night. That's why she looked sad. Poor Karen.

I think Adam's lovely waltz was a one off rather than a breakthrough and he'll struggle with his next Latin. Pleased for him though. Zara's vote boost was a one-off I suspect and she'll hit the DO next week. Eddie and Karen will need to up their game considerably. It's frustrating because unlike Zara he's got bags of musicality and potential.

Angela S's score was unexpectedly low but appropriate I thought - I wonder if her ballroom issues are fixable in the time available. If they're not then everyone's assumption that she'll make the final on a combination of talent and likeability may be incorrect - if she scores like that in all the ballroom then eventually she'll end up the dance-off with Amanda, Layton or Ellie and go home.

The other thing that I think we might have got wrong is Layton. I think that he is genuinely marmite in that he does have a real fan base who will vote for him. The number of people who don't like him or don't think he should have been cast at all doesn't matter until the final, because you can't vote against someone, all that matters is that you've got a decent number of fans. He does have fans ... but how many?

Aww that's a shame,she hasn't been married long must be hard to put on a face when you have personal stuff going on.

Re Layton's fans, I have noticed both the primary aged son of a Radio 5 breakfast presenter commenting Layton was his favourite in the week of the quick step and a well known tv presenter posting a story on insta about how wonderful Layton was for their dc to identify with. I think his fan base is pretty big and he is very enjoyable to watch. (Alan Carr's podcast with Layton last week was very funny too).

I wasn't a huge Eddie fan for some reason but I feel like he had potential for improvement, which I'm not sure Zara does. Someone on the other thread I think said she lacks musicality which I could agree with. On the other hand if they are basing it solely on tonight, I think although she wasn't great, his samba was a worse example of the dance in question so that's maybe why.

Zara has to be toast next week, surely.

The Strictly Spoiler poll suggests that Adam is also not long for this world, and that Angela S is not as popular as I'd have imagined.
Entertainment Odds poll was fairly similar IIRC but put Nigel at the top and Adam dead last.

It backs up my theory that Layton, Uber-Ringah though he is, does have a real fan base, so although he's unlikely to win, he's not full-on Box Office Poison and is unlikely to hit the dance-off before the quarter-finals.
