I'm hooked - really wish Vanessa would dial it down though! I was a big fan of her BBC radio show, she's a very bright woman, but she's definitely going to put viewers backs up!
Pretty slim pickings at the mixer for the girls - no good looking guys at all!
No wonder Lottie shagged Adam, the producers didn't really give her anyone else to distract her from him....

Just watched tonight’s episode & it was sooo awkward! Vanessa having a go at Paul, the Lottie & Adam scenario, Spudz. I feel like there’s a lot of tension this series & it’s less funny/ upbeat. The preview to next week looks painful too!

I had to switch off as it was making me tense before bedtime 😂

I’ll be amazed if Vanessa stays to the end. Glad she got pulled up - she’s very argumentative and really does think she’s above everyone with her superior knowledge of the english language - she comes across as a complete twat. Remember her melt down in Celebrity Big Brother?

I can’t believe how rude Vanessa is - I’m glad the experts are calling her out on it. You can tell she’s acting out of hurt from her last relationship but then why did she agree to go on here if she doesn’t want to date!

Adam is toxic, he seems devoid of any feelings or empathy. Poor Lottie, he has really humiliated her. I didn’t like Autumn sticking her beak in with Lottie either.

I like Chloe but I just don’t think she wants anything serious, she just seems to want someone to let loose with (and George is just as crazy as her!).

It’s strange isn’t it? She also cheered at the wine tasting when he said the wine was from her Essex so I assumed she was from there too. Maybe that’s the image she is trying to cultivate. But her mum is also quite well spoken so that doesn’t fit either.

I wonder whether they’ve messed too much with the formula this time what with the new ‘sexpert’ & awkward brunches. Vanessa is not coming across well at all although part of me did think it was a low blow to set her up on that blind date with that singer that had so much in common with her ex. As others said she still seems quite traumatised from it all- it’s hard to watch. I wonder if they’ll introduce any other celebrities this series, they do that sometimes part way through. We definitely need some light relief!

Vanessa did Celebrity Big Brother straight off the back of the break up from her first husband. He cheated I think - certainly I remember her saying at the time that she was devastated and felt shocked, vulnerable and a fool.

Now here she is now doing CGD off the back of this latest break up. She is seen as successful and confident woman in her job, and is probably confused as to why this has happened to her again. It must be a right head fuck.

I think it's difficult to be in that position and not feel like the right course of action is to just 'plough ahead' and get straight back on the horse so to speak. In her role as Agony Aunt, she often advises others to do just that. Someone should tell her to take some time to just be on her own. Vanessa is the sort of woman to equate having a partner to equal success, and view being single as a failure. (One of the reasons why the long term single among us are often viewed with suspicion or pity in society)

Her daughter seems absolutely lovely, but I get the impression that there has been a bit of the daughter mothering the mother at times in their relationship.

The rudeness though I do think is just her and potentially comes from leading quite an entitled life in many ways. Or it might be a defence mechanism, or just an entrenched way of thinking that she is a no nonsense, assertive woman.

Vanessa has said many times she cannot bear being alone, ever. She’s been out every night since she split with Ben and it was very telling when Anna asked her if she had loved him. She said something like “I loved the fact that he wanted to be with me”. And they spent 16 years together based on this?

She really needs some time alone and to learn to like herself.

All caught up now. Adam really is a massive player, you could never ever trust him. The shoe wouldn't be as good without the commentary from Rob Beckett. He's so funny.

I'm trying to catch up, but still a couple of episodes behind.

Adam is everything I dislike in a man. It really fucked me off when they brought him back on Love Island (why him? Out of ALL the contestants they could have had back) and all the girls were like "Ooh it's Adam Collard!!" I think TV producers need to stop putting him on their shows. Maybe they think he is like a pantomime villain we all love to hate. Well I don't want to see his weaselly little face any more and as a fellow Geordie, I don't wish to be 'associated'

I notice Vanessa said she wanted an Alpha Male. Is this not perhaps where she has gone wrong in the past? What is it they say, If you keep doing the same thing, you will keep getting the same result. Funny how it's rare anyone ever has 'Kind' at the top of the list of qualities these days.

I'm struggling to like anyone this season. I did like Sinitta last year and despite his faults, I always enjoy watching Pete Wicks as he's funny and not nasty in any way. Flawed, yes (aren't we all in some way) and he and Sam Thompson were adorable together.

Even Tom is losing his appeal this year. Plus he doesn't seem to be getting so much airtime.

Just started watching and only on episode 2. Just wanted to say that Chloe’s accent is all over the place. I also remember her irritating vocal fry and bizarre slurring from LI and lots of us discussing if maybe she was on medication. I don’t recall her talking with this fake Essex accent though. I feel like she’s trying to channel Olivia Atwood in terms of looks and personality but I 100% ain’t buying it!

I have a 52 year old single friend who is dating and likes the look of Paul the Italian restaurant owner. She would date him in a heartbeat. He seemed lovely as i said upthread.

I’m a bit confused about the timeline of their relationship but I read somewhere it’s still being filmed? And they were dating while on the show but have now split up (captured last week). So it’s sort of in real time. It’s not that they’ve been dating since finishing filming which is what I previously thought! I could be wrong though.

I think some bits are still filming but mostly finished? Maybe just Vanessa still filming?

Ah right, yes maybe it’s just Vanessa’s bits. Very confusing. The DM (yes I know it’s evil) is reporting that they’ve broken up & mentioning that clip where Adam picks Autumn. Either way I hope Lottie has made an escape from Adam! Anyone noticed that he does a weird mouth thing when he talks?

I do think Vanessa is a bit closed off but to be fair to her, I don't think they have come up with anyone that we'll suited to her, apart from the one that she had a second date with. Not sure why she didn't pursue that one?
