I’m only halfway through the first episode but I’m absolutely engrossed.

Anyone else watching? Thought it was interesting the Mollie Mae and Tommy didn’t reveal their pregnancy to Tyson and Paris until she was nearly 6 months gone. They can’t be remotely close despite what they’re trying to portray.

Tyson seems to be a bit of bellend and Paris appears to put up with a lot. His bipolar is blamed for a lot but I think he’s just badly behaved and entitled. The kids are feral 😳 although Venezuela seems to be more mature than her dad.

I’ve just seen this advertised and want to give it a go. I’ll report back!

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 16/08/2023 20:33

The way Tyson speaks to Paris at times is awful. He’s pandered to so much.

I thought exactly the same as you op! Tyson acts like a spoilt child!

Swirlingpearl · 16/08/2023 23:09

I just posted on the other thread about this, he’s quite cruel to Paris, not nice to watch. I
wouldn’t want her life a bit even though I guess this kind of thing is meant to be a bit aspirational.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 16/08/2023 23:16

He’s like a toddler on crack, very impulsive. Living with him must be absolutely exhausting. Paris deserves a medal.

Started watching this mainly because I’d heard what a lovely bloke he is…he comes over as a total bellend. Barely involved with his kids, shitty to his wife. Pretty sure BPD only accounts for some of that. Isn’t he on medication?

CoolShoeshine · 17/08/2023 11:46

His wife seems absolutely lovely. The kids’ names are mad!
Molly-Mae comes across different to how I expected - very down to earth and warm.

Parsley1234 · 17/08/2023 11:52

ill watch this have they kept their kids out of school after 11 ?

qazxc · 17/08/2023 11:53

Yes, i'm on the first episode and I don't know how much is mental health, how much is cultural gender roles but he seems very selfish and anger brimming below the surface. on the day of the christening, he left Paris to get herself and kids ready while he went on a run, got a bit snippy in the church and then seemed mad that Paris asked him to look Adonis went he went awol followed by him leaving the party (in a bit of a huff) early.
Does she put up with it because of cultural expectations? Because she is afraid that he will go back down the drink and drugs route?

EmmaOvary · 17/08/2023 12:00

Has anyone else noticed that they seem riddled with cold sores? Finding it quite distracting. Mainly Tyson and Paris but some of the kids too.

fivelilducks · 17/08/2023 13:28

It's really put me off him. He seems so far removed from reality, Paris dies absolutely everything for the kids. No wonder she's screaming at them all the time

fivelilducks · 17/08/2023 13:28

And the 3 year old just constantly drinks coke 😂

Wendysfriend · 17/08/2023 16:36

I started it today and I'm on episode 7. It's much better than I expected. It's interesting to see their lives and he must be very hard to live with. I'm loving the kids, the kid who drinks all the coke is so funny, watching him taking it from other cups 😂 I loved the battered sausage scene " You wanted battered sausage and chips", " Yeah but I didn't know it would come looking like that". 😂

allhellcantstopusnow · 17/08/2023 16:42

I want to hate-watch this but Fury is such a prick of a boxer that I don't know if I can bring myself to. If doesn't look like he's going to win me over with his charm based on the comments here either!

Tangledbaby · 17/08/2023 21:48

On episode 2. Cannot believe how he treats Paris! She seems so together, intelligent and kind. I really feel for her. I bet he was bearable when he was boxing and away most of the time, but must be awful him being retired!

So far he seems very self centred and can’t see outside himself. He does seem warm and friendly though.

Also started today and have watched x4 episodes, Paris is the absolute star of the show, none of them would manage at all without her,.

bingojuice · 17/08/2023 22:01

I loved it thought it was so funny especially the bit with the bins/tip 😂 Tyson loves a tip don't he 😂I'm a gypsy too and that's just the culture, the women rear the children and look after the home, the men earn a living to keep the family. In their situation Tyson could retire tomorrow and never have to work again, but you find with retired athletes they just go down hill once they longer are doing what they've done all their life, and I think that reflects his change in mood when he's back into the boxing. I suffer with bpd and when watching this with my husbands he reckons I'm up and down like Tyson, when im good I'm great but when im down I can't bring myself back up it's a horrible thing and something I have no control over. Paris is a saint for putting up with it but you can tell how much they love each other and it can't be all that bad because she's about to have baby number 7!

gettingoldisshit · 17/08/2023 22:05

Ive got up to episode 3 so far but i find the way Molly Mae talks to Tommy really patronising!

Yes! I found it really distracting too.

I really don’t like how every shitty thing he does is ‘bipolar’. I have bipolar, I’m not a cunt to my family.

Carsarelife · 17/08/2023 22:09

How can I watch this? What is it on please?

bingojuice · 17/08/2023 22:12

@Carsarelife Netflix

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 17/08/2023 22:27

Molly Mae speaks to Tommy as if she’s his carer. I suspect he ticks the boxes for her in that he’s good looking and brings the celebrity circus but intellectually (and I don’t think she’s brain of Britain) she’s streets ahead of him.

Im on the final episode now and I can’t help but think that perhaps Tyson has suffered some form of brain injury over his career. He has quite a curious speaking cadence and very little impulse control. Perhaps it’s the bipolar but I dunno.

Just4ThisThread · 17/08/2023 23:56

I’ve made it to episode 7 and agree Paris is the star. Mollie Mae seems a bit of a tit.

They say money doesn’t buy happiness but it buys an ironing woman 😁

qazxc · 18/08/2023 06:47

He tries to bring everything back to him and his ego. When he went on a day out with Venezuela for example. He spent the time in the jacuzzi talking to other people about himself and when they were having lunch the conversation was " what is it like being the daughter of the gypsy king? Your fr8ends must talk about me." You could see if being surprised, almost miffed, when she said her friends never mentioned it. I thought, well teenage girls would probably be more impressed at Molly from Love Island and Instagram being her aunty than her dad being a boxer.
