I’m only halfway through the first episode but I’m absolutely engrossed.

Anyone else watching? Thought it was interesting the Mollie Mae and Tommy didn’t reveal their pregnancy to Tyson and Paris until she was nearly 6 months gone. They can’t be remotely close despite what they’re trying to portray.

Tyson seems to be a bit of bellend and Paris appears to put up with a lot. His bipolar is blamed for a lot but I think he’s just badly behaved and entitled. The kids are feral 😳 although Venezuela seems to be more mature than her dad.

@notagossiplol yes well done for speaking out not an easy choice

icelollycraving · 20/08/2023 16:22

One of the scenes I really liked was her putting together a quick party for him, and the presents were completely normal dad gifts. You’d think it’d be all Versace pants 🤣

I was watching thinking he has borderline personality disorder not bipolar so actually if his dad was that physically abusive to his mum the trauma of growing up with it probably caused bpd rather than bipolar. Bipolar mood cycling isn't as quick as his.

He is all about himself, I also thought he was going to say about the visits home from camp were disruptive to the dc but yet again it was all about him.

I felt for Venezuela when he took her to the spa, all he did was talk about himself to those women and then to Venezuela, asking her if people ask questions about him.

He was NOT happy when she said her friends didn't care that he was her dad 😂😂😂 and the conversation revolved around him the whole time.

I also thought it was shit that he only stayed to watch her open her birthday present that he got her and fucked off for the rest. He did that with his son as well.

I do like the fact he drives an old Passat when he doesn't want the flashy attention of the Lambo SUV. He is coming across as a dick though. I would like Paris to have a media career of her own. She is articulate and personable

Parsley1234 · 20/08/2023 18:47

So sad that they don’t value education very very limiting

I think it's all for show. On the tattle thread there is someone who's dc go to school with his and says if it's not the nanny dropping or picking dc up they're usually in a Bently or a other expensive cars.

Another thing I noticed was that Paris took the eldest dd out and spoke to her about going to the fight and supporting her dad, then 10 mins later it was that the dc wanted to see him fight. There was lots of discrepancies throughout the show that did my head in. I completely binge watched it though so I'm Netflix is happy with the ratings.

This reminded me so much of my life but without the money.

DH has ADHD and works away. He's never had a "normal" life and he's about to retire.

Her life is easier than mine.
They have PA's
Cleaner
Gardener
Manager
Nanny
Plenty of family to look after the kids
Weekends away just the 2 of them.

Money to pay people to sort their life out basically.

catskittens · 20/08/2023 21:57

you fotgot the party planner

lunaalice · 20/08/2023 22:57

Lol I was going to put that but as they don't exclusively employ them I didn't.

I'm on episode 6. They get out / away loads without the kids.

BlondeFool · 22/08/2023 09:57

It's so sad the oldest daughter doesn't go to school. Limiting her options. There hasn't been one scene with a home tutor.

i have no imagination pls enlighten us lol

I think domestic abuse is the implication. If true it seems wrong for netflix to portray himself as this lovely caring guy.

HotDogHotDiggityDog · 22/08/2023 14:53

The timeline is absolutely all over the place, if Molly Mae was six months pregnant at the start then it would have been September time but the christening was meant to have been in July. Same with little Tysons birthday was in July but that episode was shown after the christening 🤷🏼‍♀️ it's driving me a bit mad, not sure if I will manage to get through the rest of the series. I also don't believe that Molly Mae and Tommy didn't tell Paris and Tyson that they were having a baby until that late on, it didn't seem realistic.

i would climb Tommy like a tree
it's worth watching just for him
Molly is nothing like i imagined in a good way

Climb Tommy like a tree 😂😂😂 agreed! He is a beautiful man and Molly Mae seems sweet.

lunaalice · 22/08/2023 17:54

Has He really cheated on her with 500 women? I know he would get the opportunity but he said their relationship is built on honesty and respect? Strange thing to say if it's common knowledge?

Maybe Paris knows about it and they have come to an understanding? I suppose that would be honesty if he was telling her about it 😂

Molly Mae & Tommy weren't at the christening though, were they?

Tommy bares no resemblance to Tyson or his dad at all

They have different mother's, Tommy's mother is Mauritian descent. Tommy has another brother from the same mother who is very similar/like him.

secretfreckle · 22/08/2023 21:48

My daughter and I binge watched this over a couple of nights.
It's fantastic in its awfulness.
Can you imagine trying to teach those kids at school? With all the swearing and back chat.
We laughed at Tommy talking about 'cutting the placenta'. Molly Mae totally does speak to him like she is his carer, as a PP said.
Adonis drinking Coke and stealing drinks at the parties.
Venezuela, who can do anything with her life, 'even be a doctor'. Er, no, I don't think so.
If they do have nannies, etc. they kept them nicely out of the way during filming!

fabmaccawhackyrhumbsaloft · 22/08/2023 22:00

I've watched two and it's embarrassing and depressing.

Just fuels the traveller stereotype minus crime

Tyson may well have mental health issues but does t excuse the way he treats his wife who seems quite lovely and strong

The division in how the 3 boys are treated to the 3 girls is just depressing.

Heritage and culture is one thing but this is sexism made sexy for a tv show

The way he treated Paris on coming home from his personal appearance tour would have had me locking the bloody door and telling him to sleep in his precious bloody caravan

He just comes across as a petulant fool with a long suffering wife and hoard of feral children

And I don't like the dog being kept outside either - if you have a dog - it's part of the family not a status symbol but I feel everything he has is a status symbol

I've switched it off

CallieJones · 22/08/2023 22:38

I've only seen the first episode so far, but was wondering if there will be a culture clash between the traveller norm of SAHM and Molly Mae wanting to be carrying on her career. Or will Tommy just go with how she wants to play things and they'll get a nanny?

Well he mentioned that he wants ten kids and a later episode that he has no plans to ever change a nappy, but she doesn't seem to agree.

There's a parent whose child goes to the same school, they talk about the behaviour on the tattle thread, it's under the families subheading....they also said the nanny is the woman with dark hair (seen outside the Morecambe hotel before meeting Tommy and Molly, at the beach, she brings the kids home from school in a small grey car, and she's wearing a blue dress at Athena's christening at the midland hotel...just as they are running around saying where's Adonis...he's missing, the nanny was always there
