The diagnosis means Amy will not be able to compete on Strictly this year, but is "in regular contact with the team".

"The BBC have just been utterly incredible," she said.
Amy said she hoped to still be able to play some part in the show and her aim was "to continue dancing".
"The oncologist said to me movement is really, really good for people on chemo, it's important. So that was encouraging."

She can choose to do what she likes obviously. Recovering from Sepsis and having chemo, as well as Chrohn's, is gruelling. I was merely positing how she might be included in the show at some point, on her own terms and pending health, given that's what she wished for.

Bloody hell, what a horrible year for Amy.

I’d love Amy to be involved in some way. Even if it’s just a weekly conversation via ‘phone with Claudia on her Saturday morning R2 show as a sort of pundit.

Amy is such a sweetheart. My daughter and her friend went and stood outside the hotel where they were all staying on tour in Glasgow just before the pandemic in 2020, the year with Kelvin Fletcher, Saffron Burrows and Emma Barton.

Some of the pro dancers were more than happy to pose for pics - Graziano (smells lovely), Johannes (very tall and skinny), Dianne (funny and nice coat) and others were not so nice - Katya, Luba. DD reports that Amy had come out to go onto the bus with Stacey Dooley who was hosting that year and spent ages making sure everyone got their photos and having a wee chat. She has some lovely photos with Amy, no make-up at all and just one of those people who glows.

I really hope she gets better soon.

There's a new video on social media of the celebrities "dancing", I hate that some just really mask their skills at this point to make it all the more amazing when they do their first dance. Already a bit sick of Layton tbh.

Based on that video alone, my new allegiance goes to Krishnan.
I also appreciated Nigel's fancy footwork and Angela's Charleston moves.
The rest of them pretending they can only do the robot, the caterpillar and fake twerking can go done one.
They were asked "signature moves", mind. Mine is the Holiday armography from Madonna circa Live Aid's Holiday.

I have so much respect for Jowita and Johannes who are now both hugely popular pros, having done it the hard way. Johannes spent years in the background while other pros were given higher profiles and now he’s so loved by the strictly audience. I find that so inspiring to be honest.

@Twonewcats she has had two awful partners no? Sportsmen don't make for good dancers. I have liked her in the group numbers. I'd like to see Nadia or Dianne benched.

No, I didn't think she came across well at all, and Jason Bell could have been much better if he'd been challenged a bit more

I agree, she really didn't do well as a pro. I love her dances with Karen though

Mind you, Graziano was utter rubbish to start and he's come a very long way so maybe Luba deserves another chance

It seems like Neil is being benched again this year. Might have been partly his choice with the imminent baby due though maybe?

I think Graziano takes himself too seriously. Same with Nadiya.

I saw Nadiya dance this year with Kai in their show together and whilst her dancing is stunning and she has chemistry with Kai there is something that stops you feeling emotion for her.

I don't think Neil or Dianne bring out the best in their partners and Luba doesn't have any chemistry with the public.

The show really needs Gio, Karen, Johannes and Katya to have strong partners this year plus Kai being allowed to shine. I think Lauren has more chance of getting a partner than Luba.

Karen deserves a shit hot dancer with a winning personality because she got the short straw last year

She deserves a bloody Nobel prize for dignity in the face of me-railing, mawkish wailing and nose bopping.
