A ringer is someone who is a really good/ trained dancer to begin with.

this causes much debate on here ( and elsewhere)

for me, there will always be a range of dancing abilities on the show. Especially if you have slebs from the acting and performing worlds, of course they will have some previous training and ability! It will never be a level playing field. And the results show that this does not automatically guarantee their success.

so it’s an area of discussion I don’t get very involved in.
