Was that truck trying to break?

Well, I'd hope it was trying to brake rather than break.

That felt like a Casualty of old with the big car accident and lots of patients all at once. Even my teenager sat down and watched it!

I'd love a happy ending to Charlie's story like him and Josh going travelling into the sunset, but unfortunately I think there is only one way now for him.

Yes, I felt it was old school Casualty - rather than having patients delivered to A&E by ambulance interrupting the cast's personal lives, we were back to Spot the Accident and Spot who gets Deaded. Though waiting for whatever was going to cause Charlie to leave did feel like waiting for the second shoe to drop.

Kiwano · 09/03/2024 23:29

With all the safety precautions, you'd think someone would have the sense to give the staff some means of raising the alarm if attacked.

MyTruthIsOut · 09/03/2024 23:29

I actually feel rather sad for Charlie.

I would rather him have left in a happy storyline rather than him being stabbed because he was “doing the right thing.”

However, I guess he will be held up as a hero and the staff will adore him even more for it. I foresee a statue of Charlie being erected at the entrance to ED in memory of him 😂

purpleme12 · 09/03/2024 23:46

It was so good to see Zoe again

bizzey · 10/03/2024 00:27

I loved that Dylan was having a grump because he wasn't invited out for dinner !😅

AnImaginaryCat · 10/03/2024 00:44

They could open an extra specialist treatment room (like the one Connie get built - can't recall what she called it - but the one she used about twice then forgot about) and call it "The Charlie Fairhead Treatment Room".

Did they name it after Cal ?

AnImaginaryCat · 10/03/2024 08:02

No don't think so. It's was a trauma theatre (no clue why I couldn't recall that last night - seems a fairly self explanatory name!! 😁)

Though thinking about it there's a few rooms that's have disappeared. When was the family room last seen? The big office with the two desks up on the first floor?

Someone stealing the set? Budget cuts?

We said the same @spiderlight. Surely he'd be suspended?

I think if we’ve learnt anything about police processes after the murder of Sarah Everard and all the corruption that has been exposed since then, it’s that police officers really don’t get suspended for any kind of misogyny or violence against women, especially domestic abuse ☹️ That Harry was back at work struck me as astonishingly true to life.

JustDanceAddict · 10/03/2024 08:59

They blew the series budget on last night’s episode, but it was def back in form.
Poor old Charlie - what a way to go! He’ll def be hailed as a hero.
No-one believes Stevie, which is so frustrating.
Hope wife of horrible Harry is ok. And yes? Why was he still on duty ffs.

Statue would be less wooden..

Gosh @TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross that is thoroughly depressing.

I enjoyed that too 😂 “you shout at the waiters and you order lobster!” 😂

Interesting about Zoe's return. Is she still with Max and if so might they claim custody of Charlotte? She was asked if she had children last night.

spiderlight · 10/03/2024 13:56

Zoe's only back for two episodes :(

LIZS · 10/03/2024 13:59
Sad

Who is Charlotte?

I hope we see Zoe wearing some of her spectacular stilettos at some point!!

She always looked so glamorous and seeing her in scrubs just didn’t have the same effect 😂

purpleme12 · 10/03/2024 14:48

Robyn's child

SS gave Charlotte to Charlie? 😂

purpleme12 · 10/03/2024 15:33

I'm not sure what you mean?

LIZS · 10/03/2024 15:37

She went off with Paul iirc

MyTruthIsOut · 10/03/2024 15:44

purpleme12 · 10/03/2024 15:33

I'm not sure what you mean?

A previous poster said that Zoe and Max might claim custody of Charlotte, implying that Charlie had her, and that now he has died (which he will) there is nobody to look after her?

My point was that I didn’t even know he had Charlotte. She’s never mentioned is she?

And if he does have her, I just find it had to imagine that Social Services would have placed a very young child with a man as old as Charlie (especially in light of his son’s history), regardless of how close he was to Robyn.

purpleme12 · 10/03/2024 15:51

I don't think PP was trying to say that Charlie has Charlotte at all

Charlotte is Max's niece. Which is why PP might have thought they might try to get Charlotte I'm guessing.

Oh I see. That makes more sense!!

I doubt they will though - why would Max suddenly do it now? I imagine Charlotte is with her step-dad isn’t she? Though I can’t remember his name 😬
