Anyone watching The Big Interiors Battle on Channel 4 ?

The final was my favourite episode, I liked the fact they got the chance to go back and change the previous rooms. Neither designer blew me away but they were both the right people to make it to the end.

I've also come to the conclusion that my main problem with this series was the lady who was judging - I found her bland, a little annoying and not terribly insightful. The concept was neat and the designers, while not spectacular, were as good as on similar shows. I liked the lady that presented it though.

(as a side note: the best thing I saw in the whole series was the fabulous suit she was wearing in the final episode. I was in love. )

I was very sad for Jamie, whose flat was very calm and comfortable.
Runner up is no mean feat, so I hope he goes from strength to strength in his design career. I think that his flat would actually be easier to sell on, as it is very appealing and less quirky.

Tara's flat had more individuality and was striking, although some of her ideas are not to my taste. I do hope she and her girls move in and thrive.

I thought Tara would win mainly because of her 'back story' because design wise they were both much of a muchness. I liked design features in both. However I really struggle to believe Tara will live in that pokey flat with two children. From the brief glimpse the eldest looked about 11/12 so can't see her sharing a room with bunk beds with her younger sister for much longer.

Tara got criticised by Dara for having too much stuff in the living room/kitchen but the truth is she was designing for a family with children not two grown adults. Those flats weren't for families.

I strongly suspect she'll sell the flat and stay in London. Her kids will be settled at school and as she's set up her own interior design business I would think there's more work for her staying in London. Everything on the internet suggests she's still in London although to be fair I'm not sure if any of the those flats were ready to be moved into and even if she wanted to move in straight away. It seemed to be still pretty much a building site although it was filmed last year so may have changed now.

Tara already had an interior design company before this she'd also won "House and Garden Magazine 2021 design competition in conjunction with The Calico Club and United in Design"

part of me does feel slightly conned that several of the contestants were actually professional designers.

Why would Tara move to Sheffield? All of her friends and contacts are in London. The apartment is far too small for her and her children and if I were her I would just sell it.

To be fair, I did exactly that because I couldn't afford to buy in London.

Although I didn't move to a tiny flat.

I feel a bit conned too.☹️
But I suppose it was a very big prize.

I do understand completely why they didn't entrust this to total amateurs. It would have been a huge risk.

It never really came across in the little "to camera chat" bits though. They seemed to be quite misleading in what they didn't say.
