I liked Denzil and Amy in this episode. The story has really given Kim and Denzil something to do other than be supporting characters to Amy and Denise.

Think it's what Kim needed to hear though, good on Denzil.

It is nice to see teens being supportive
They get a bad press usually and seen as surly and uncooperative etc
This was nice and Denzil certainly has more empathy than Howie seems to! Although he doesn't know about her panic attacks

I loved the Brittas Empire. I wouldn't have recognised her. She definitely seems to be livening things up in the Queen Vic. Maybe the baby under the desk was Linda.

Brittas ran from 91 to 97 ( according to the internet )
Linda is 45 , born in 78!! The baby in brittas must be late 20s by now. It might show up in EE you never know!

Felix asked for ice. Was rather surprised Finlay just handed his car keys over to Kim since (1) she was probably not insured on it and (2) her car crash was still recent!

Also thought Rocky was going to be one of the men from ABBA. The Bucks Fizz tribute was good though! Both Kathy and Jean look amazing for their ages imho.

On a different note, I'm not sure I understand what all the fuss surrounding Kim's court case is? Didn't the judge say she was most likely to get a 12 month driving ban and that was it? Where is all this prison talk coming from? What a useless solicitor she had too!

They all missed a trick by not including a Eurovision in-joke about Ronnie!!

They mentioned previous convictions (?motoring) so probably taking that into account .

Elaine would know some of the regulars from when she was there before . But her own pub (the one Linda was managing when Janine visited covertly pretending to be a Wine Rep) looked quite glitzly but low key , nicely decorated for Christmas , not like a tinsel factory had thrown up on it

Magistrate gave Kim an immediate 12 month driving ban and bailed her to appear before a Crown Court at a later date for further sentencing. Magistrates are not empowered to deal with more serious cases. Not sure what the actual charge was, prob dangerous driving and she may have previous driving offences.

When did Kim have a previous conviction?
They haven't had anyone in prison for a while , so maybe she'll be in there with her high vis on?

She did come down when they first got the Vic , but it was only for a day or two and was the old head one !
She was brave to square up to them all. (Brave or silly !)
Elaine's pub did look nice : modern and clean
The Vic always looks grubby and always needs cleaning as they have glasses smashed on a weekly basis lately !

Totally agree, Blondes, Linda's Mum is awful. I think they've gone for a Peggy/Pat type but failed. The phone call at the end is obviously dodgy.
If Alfie loses his job, maybe he'll have to move back in with the Slaters.

Hate the Ben story, but I suppose it's fair he isn't coping. He has a lot to deal with (Lola, the rape, Phil)

NO! I think Kellie Bright is far prettier and classier than the actress who plays her mother.

Linda is an awful person. I really, really can't blame Sharon for being pissed off at her.

She has had years of misery and unhappiness and an ex alcoholic , now all the stress of the Vic and not knowing what happened to Mick and the news about Janine , it's relentless. Just as she got back with Mick, all that happened ! As well as a child with SEN and Annie whose dad isn't around either.
She should have told Sharon her plans and she did use both her and Nish, but she wasn't in a good place and didn't know what to do for the best. Plus her mum seems v controlling too and clearly messed her about too
I feel that she needs a smidgeon of sympathy even though I know why Sharon is like she is as well : it's not easy.

Totally irrelevent but why didn't Kim just wander across the Square to get some ice from the Queen Vic ? It looked quite early in the day (there were children in the Prince Albert , looked like a Mum&Toddler group ) so well before it all kicked off with Elaine .

And The Albert should get an ice machine , Summer coming up they'll be doing loads of cocktails and mocktails .
But everyone wanders into each others business premesis to borrow plates/ketchup/milk/change .

Kim didn't go and borrow or buy from the mini mart because then we couldn't have had the scene in the car I suppose. Kim hasn't got a car now , so I suppose it was a way of showing how the accident has affected her mental health and driving again ( it was her fault she crashed , I know!)
She was lucky that Denzil was around and not at school that time to help her.
She shouldn't have used her mobile in the car though. She is in the wrong , but it's sad seeing her struggling so much and she now has a court case looming as well.
