So a few plot lines resolved

Felixstowe had incorporated the necklace into his Dusty Springfield costume and his brother spotted it when he and Kim started their performance.

Coronation stuff filmed before the broadcast and then the footage added onto the tv screen in post production. Not hard to do. And using a camera to filming another screen never makes the footage as clear/perfect as that

Truss’s wife would be very young even for early onset dementia. He must be mid thirties. I think maybe she was in some sort of accident and now brain damaged.
I hate it when the character doesn’t just explain the situation. They do it all the time in ee.

I think it sounded like Reiss is acting this way towards Debbie out of a guilty conscience. Like it's his fault she's in this state and he needs to be responsible. Can't blame him, though. It must ne very conflicting for him!

I thought he said she had a stroke in the bath and by the time Jeremy Paxman had finished and he had gone up she had a massive bleed on the brain and there is no hope for her.

Yes she had a headache - had a bath and a stroke. I assume was under the water a bit when found her /bleed on brain was so severe
