Has anyone else not got the new episode yet?

gingercat02 · 19/05/2023 13:10

Nooooo! Just made my lunch. No Midge and Suzy 🥲 Guess it will have to be another Queen Charlotte instead.

Popuppilot · 19/05/2023 14:29

You have the same taste in tv as me 😂

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 19/05/2023 15:36

not on yet.

Roomforactivites · 19/05/2023 15:56

I looked on reddit and someone said there's a delay/issue but you can watch it on Amazon.com - it's working for me

Popuppilot · 19/05/2023 18:55

This worked thank you!!

Splattsagain · 19/05/2023 19:31

I've just watched it on Amazon UK, must have arrived very recently. Lovely speech from Abe towards the end!

escapingthecity · 19/05/2023 21:16

I think there's only one left! I have my thoughts on the call which had Midge dashing out...

MissHavershamReturns · 20/05/2023 22:45

I liked it but thought the scenes at the college reunion were a bit overacted - not as good as the early series scenes with Imogene

Yes that was a brilliant scene!

Newgirls · 21/05/2023 08:39

Yes agree the college scene was over done. Or needed more reflection from midge. The don’t line didn’t make sense out of context did it?

hetty and abe were great.

greennotepad · 21/05/2023 14:28

My initial thought was that something had happened to Abe (on the phonecall), but remembered he's in a flash forward episode so he can't have died. Maybe one of the in-laws?

The scene with Abe was lovely, made me cry! A really great episode, I thought. Wish we got more of Hedy Ford, she's fab.

Maybe handsome Lenny...

Which flash-forward episode is Abe in? I thought that in the flash forward to Rose’s dating agency in the future it was clear Abe had died? But perhaps that’s misdirection and it’s not yet. Although it did seem like the obvious thing after that speech in the restaurant about Midge.

greennotepad · 21/05/2023 14:59

He's in the Hawaii flashfoward for Midge's wedding, which is in the 70s sometime @NoSquirrels

tribpot · 21/05/2023 15:00

Only one episode left. Overall this season has been as frustrating as the last - Midge isn't making any real progress in her career, and now it's pretty clear we're not going to see much of anything of her 'overnight' success. It would be much more interesting to watch them all adjust to that.

Hedy Ford is amazing, worth her own spin-off (as of course is Susie). I thought the phone call was going to be about Abe, I don't remember him in one of the (many) flash forwards.

An exhibition of the costumes would be amazing.

Of course! Thanks, yes, you’re right. Hmm, well that ruins my confident theory.

escapingthecity · 21/05/2023 21:08

I think the call was from Jack Parr and she's going to have made it on her own, so Susie didn't need to ask a favour of Hedy and that will be both the making of her career and the start of their estrangement

tribpot · 21/05/2023 21:18

Oh that would be a good twist @escapingthecity - fingers crossed.

SapatSea · 22/05/2023 16:15

Very frustrating episode given that there is just one left to go. Felt annoyed when Midge berated Susie saying that she had been a "good soldier" and done everything Susie had told her to . Hmm... seem to remember that it was Midge who has sabotaged herself - Shy Baldwin outing, pissing off the Mob when she knew Susie needed her to behave at the Industrial Show etc...

The money and privilege that Midge and her family take for granted really grates. What was the point of the Bryn Mawr reunion? Felt very fake.

tribpot · 22/05/2023 16:29

I don't know that the Weissmans actually have any money left now, do they? Didn't Abe lose it all (I forget how) and somehow Midge is supporting them all? I don't really see how that's possible on the various wages she has!

I think the Bryn Mawr thing was just part of the constant shuttling back and forth in time that this season has been about - Midge reflecting back to her ambitions as a college girl.

gingercat02 · 22/05/2023 17:38

There's waaaaay too much to do in one more episode. If they leave it all hanging I'll be cross!

Gooseysgirl · 23/05/2023 07:28

I'm wondering are they going to touch on Lenny's demise in the final episode? Only one appearance so far this series 🤔

greennotepad · 23/05/2023 07:33

I feel like the Lenny story is done (from a MM perspective)- that scene at the airport felt very final. They might do his death in a flashfoward? But there are so many other more important characters to wrap up, and only one episode in which to do it- I would personally be disappointed if they spent too much time on him.

Gooseysgirl · 23/05/2023 13:03

I wonder if it will be a feature length episode? Dunno how they will fit it all in otherwise. The series feels disappointingly short!
