I know why there's an umlaut - sorry - diaeresis (it's not an umlaut) - over the e. But her name is written Bronte, like Bronte the Sydney suburb as a PP said. I was just wondering why so many posters here are spelling it with the ë - because in this case that is incorrect. Someone wrote that it's probably autocorrect, which makes sense. Anyway, no big deal! Back to discussions of arsehole Harrison and lovely Duncan!

My autocorrect spells it that way. And I just leave it 😂

Romeiswheretheheartis · 15/04/2023 16:57

They should have put Mel with Dan, and Tayla with Harrison - that would have set enough sparks flying without messing up decent people.

happinessischocolate · 15/04/2023 18:16

I've just remembered that the first evening at couples retreat Harrison said to Rupert that he didn't trust him after the butt dial milarky, Rupert said something like I don't care, I'm not here to make friends with you, to which Harrison replied you'll find it really hard here if people don't trust you.

Harrison has then proceeded to lie and throw people under the bus left, right and centre. How's that important trust going now Harrison? No one believes a word you say 😂

I've said before sex pest Mel and Dan should have been together.

Him going on about being in beast mode and her telling him he's not man enough 😂 it would have been hilarious.

Josh and Sandy would have been a good match.

@toodlesofoodles

Absolutely agree. At one point he said he hated being centre of attention... that's literally his job??

Tbf, and I'm no fan of Jesse, there's a big difference between being the centre of attention for work or for fun, and being the centre of attention because your relationship is going to shit.

He didn't mind being centre of attention when he ran through the house stark naked!

I like Rupert for this.. of all the guys and for a seemingly shy person he doesn't really see the need to win favour with anyone but Evelyn. Fair play to him.

I have real doubts about Jesse, if he really cared about Claire, why would he bring all that up at the table, it’s kind of humiliating.
He likes the air time, contrary to what he tries to present*^

Jesse really went far down in my estimation when he did that. His first sentence was bad enough but he really went to town on her, humiliating her in front of all the others, none of whom supported her, instead of taking her aside and talking to her in private after Harrison put the boot in. I can't see any reconciliation from this - and I think Claire should stay well clear of him for her own sake. 🌹

I do too. That's why I remembered it. The edits at the beginning made him look a lot more nervous and shy than what he is. He's joined Duncan and Layton in my top 3

I really can't see sandy with josh.

He was a pleasant man but not exactly exciting or go getting. He was a bit of a sad sack really. You could meet and marry him without going on a reality tv show of you want his type!

bellsbuss · 16/04/2023 11:40

I read earlier that Harrison and Bronte had matched on a dating site before the show

I always felt that Josh had been very very badly affected by his divorce and had had the stuffing knocked out of him. I felt that if he had the right woman and his confidence grew, he would be absolutely fine.

Deathraystare · 16/04/2023 19:42

Jesse is as thick as mince if he couldn't see what Harrison was doing! Picking on one couple and then another. Moron. Loved Claire's line about putting his red shirt on a pole 'Red Flag'! Although unfortunately he then picked on them.

I thought the same.

mewkins · 16/04/2023 22:28

I kind of always thought that's why Claire wanted to stay. She knew Jesse was done but insisted on staying. That's a bit weird for someone who claimed to care about the other person.

Yeah but she wasn’t contradicting him when he said out she was there to make things better and didn’t actually fancy him. At that point everyone could see it was the truth and it didn’t matter if it came from Harrison or anyone else.

Bronte is autocorrect ….interesting it’s stopped doing it. No idea how my ipad works.

Paul2023 · 16/04/2023 23:06

When Harrison gets called out by someone , his reaction is to focus on them and get his revenge.
Im catching up on Fridays show, I can’t believe Jesse is letting Harrison get into his head.

Paul2023 · 16/04/2023 23:11

I find it so annoying that most people don’t stand up to people like Harrison. He’s a manipulative bully. None of the men had the balls to stand up to him it’s always Mel, Evelyn and Claire that end up doing it.

I suppose most people don’t like confrontation, hence why most bullies go unchallenged.

Harrison actually just made Jesse destroy his relationship in front of the entire group.

Paul2023 · 16/04/2023 23:27

Love Mel and Evelyn. Saw through Harrison’s bullshit and exposed him for what he is.
Love how speechless Harrison was when Mel called him out. He tried to retaliate by throwing Grendel and it backfired.
Mel is too intelligent for Harrison and he just didn’t know what to say.

Izzy24 · 16/04/2023 23:34

People seem to have forgotten how Jesse behaved towards Claire in the beginning- all that ‘ick’ stuff and why he didn’t go for girls like her. I think Claire has been trying her best with the ixperiment to make a relationship with Jesse but he’s too introspective to give it a go.

Swansandcustard · 17/04/2023 00:29

Exactly that @Izzy24 - the second Claire mentioned starsigns Jesse was a rude, offhand twat and continued that way - which is about the time she kissed the other fella. Now the narrative is ‘poor Jesse’. I think she’s well rid, he’s like an adolescent wanna-be goth and totally focused on himself.

MelsMoneyTree · 17/04/2023 07:44

Well if H&B have split up, tonight should be the last time we see them this series - hurrah!

Izzy24 · 17/04/2023 07:57

@Swansandcustard and Claire didn’t once try to excuse herself by mentioning any of that. Respect to Claire, and also to Sandy who was the only person to treat her decently - Alyssa was particularly horrible!

Scalottia · 17/04/2023 08:55

Fuuucking hell poor Duncan (sorry am a bit behind). I need attention give it to me!! Crazy.

burnoutbabe · 17/04/2023 11:15

To be fair to Claire she may well have been trying to fancy him but it didn't happen. So she couldn't deny she didn't fancied him but she wanted to.
