I know he's controversial but I do love Frankie Boyle...

yeah it wasn't one of the best weeks, for sure. Some good ideas, but they just didn't come off as tasks, and they stuck them altogether in one episode!

Umanresources · 27/10/2023 12:08

I wondered about the staging of the room to look like the one in the shed. Would it have been allowed to use French directions like Mel did with Hugh in the wheelie bin task? In my head I was replaying it saying gauche and droit, devant and derriere. I was trying to think of either French words for the other items or describe them like in Taboo, the board game. I'm glad no one can see inside my head 😂No wonder I can't sleep.

I will say we are Taskmaster fanatics here. During lockdown we had a zoom Taskmaster evening with my family abroad and here. We have the Taskmaster board game, book and this year I got the Christmas crackers.

Agreed. Sadly the calibre of the episode was set from the start with the prize task.
But Taskmaster at its lowest is better than so much of the rest of what's on tv.

Lucy was really good this week. Loved her head shoulders film. What was the task when Doc Brown punched a fish?

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 27/10/2023 13:22

I think they always edit it so everyone has at least one week they do well, and the tasks Lucy did best on happened to be quite dull. (Except the pineapples - that was properly funny.)

They had to make a video for a nursery rhyme
One of the best tasks ever!
Doc Brown did a rap version of 1 2 3 45 Once I caught a fish alive, which was brilliant.
Jon Richardson did the three blind mice which was one of the creepiest things I've seen. Kathryn Ryan wrote her own nursery rhyme as well. Something about a tooth I remember.
Richard Osman did a parody of the verve but I can't remember his nursery rhyme. And I think Joe Wilkinson was the 5th but I can't remember his

Especially when Julian had to tell her to put her hands behind her back 😂

Ah yes I remember now! This series contestants don't seem so imaginative.

Chrysanthemum5 · 27/10/2023 16:31

Anyone who dislikes Lucy should watch taskmaster NZ series 1. Angela Dravid is the most annoying contestant ever (and she's up against two really annoying men in that series).

ReviewingTheSituation · 27/10/2023 17:14

I thought last night's prize tasks was one of the better ones! It made both me and DH properly laugh, which prize tasks don't usually.

longtompot · 27/10/2023 23:06

The pineapple task made me laugh out loud. The rest of this episode made me chuckle in places. It's really not been the best series tbh

PickAChew · 27/10/2023 23:13

It's Sue and Susan that make this series for me. Had never seen Susan before but she is adorable.

I'm sure that there were enough of the toys that you could pull the batteries out and barricade yourself in a corner away from the eufy bins.

CaveMum · 28/10/2023 08:17

Some of the best final tasks over the years have been the ones where Greg has to guess who is doing/has done something - Wow Monster anyone?!

That’s exactly what I was thinking, do a barricade. I suppose you need to know how Eufys work though.

SerendipityJane · 28/10/2023 09:10

Some great ideas for kids party games there ....

SoupDragon · 28/10/2023 09:44

I really want to play "blindfold avoid the robot hoover"

SoupDragon · 28/10/2023 10:12

Surely the "knee on the floor" in the robot task was to stop people just standing on the steps. Also it creates a bigger "target" for the robot than just a foot on the floor.

And it’s much harder to move out of the way quickly if you’re on your knees. I had worked out that I’d do what Sam did initially, with one knee on the floor and the other on the step, but it looked much more awkward in real life than in my head!

AGoodDayForSomebodyElseToDie · 28/10/2023 18:49

I actually thought that episode was better than the previous one, and the pineapple task was my least favourite bit. Just to be contrary.

Robot hoover instant death looks like a lot of fun to me!

Basilton · 29/10/2023 05:55

PapadamPreach · 27/10/2023 11:20

Wasn’t a great week with the exception of the live pineapple task which made me properly laugh.

I thought the robot vacuum one would have been way better if the arena was larger and they had to do more moving around and dodging. I don’t think needed a knee on the floor added much.

I don’t get the Lucy hate. I like her.

I cannot abide her because she makes a living on pretending to be thick. As if women can only be funny if they act dumb.

Snozzlemaid · 29/10/2023 06:11

That's it exactly Basilton
I hate the whole ditsy blonde, 'aren't I silly' act.

If she can make a living from it, fair play to her, surely ?

BucketofTeaMassiveCake · 29/10/2023 10:35

I'm very much on the back foot with Taskmaster as until a few months ago I'd never seen it - now I'm addicted and playing catch-up.

Am following some of the older series on E4 Extra and almost wet myself laughing at Ardal O'Hanlon's historical reenactment of WWII when he got a violin out and began singing 'It's a Long Way to Tipperary'. Very much on a par with Bob Mortimer's edible face, IMHO.

Make a living by pretending to be dumb? You don’t get many men doing this, a disproportionate number of women seem to though and no I don’t think fair play to them, I think why are you acting dumb.

I think this is why the phrase about crying all the way to the bank was invented ?
