I know he's controversial but I do love Frankie Boyle...

Huzzah! I love this time of year - Taskmaster, GBBO, Strictly and Traitors all just around the corner!

Ladybrrrd · 06/09/2023 21:25

I've applied for tickets for the next series but not heard anything yet

Me too... Saw email (on mailing list) a day too late... Think people have got in there too quick :(

I went this time last year and only got sent my ticket about a week in advance, so I'm still hopeful 🙏

Can I rewind back a few months and ask about the latest Champion of Champions? Was that just a rumour or has it taken place yet? Loved Sophie Duker in the series she was on, and I don't think we see enough of her.

Mooserp · 07/09/2023 15:45

I haven't seen anything about it taking place. I imagine it's a bit tricky getting them all together

tennissquare · 21/09/2023 21:26

Anyone watching tonight? It's quite funny - Sue Perkins and the cans.

slopsan · 21/09/2023 21:35

Who is Sam?

CaveMum · 21/09/2023 21:39

Oh no, I’d forgotten it was on! Will have to catch up.

CleanHankie · 21/09/2023 21:48

You shit giblet is now my new go to work insult!

MapleSyrupWaffles · 21/09/2023 21:51

Yes I'm watching and enjoying Sue so far - she and Julian are the only two I knew. Though they both look much older than I remember them from shows in the past.

I watched the intro interviews this afternoon to see the contestants. I was surprised that some of them didn't know who Greg was yet (this was before the studio tasks) - I can't believe that they'd never have watched the show first!

Hoping for Sue

Mooserp · 21/09/2023 22:06

The tower of cans task was good.

Haven't seen Sam before but I found him very funny.

Jellykat · 21/09/2023 22:13

Catching up now, i do love Sue and Julian

CwmYoy · 21/09/2023 22:14

Where will I find the intro interviews?

Sue is fab.

MapleSyrupWaffles · 21/09/2023 22:17

The interviews are on the official taskmaster YouTube channel

PickAChew · 21/09/2023 22:46

I've always been a lot in love with Sue. Dream contestant. I'm expecting a YouTube montage of all the ways she calls Alex a shit before the series is over.

Walkingtheplank · 22/09/2023 00:06

That was the funniest thing I've seen in ages - properly laughing out loud.

I can't work out if Lucy is that stupid. I can't believe that Jon Richardson would be married to such an idiot. Is it a character she plays?

Meanwhile, Sue Perkins was too funny. She stole every scene.

Floralnomad · 22/09/2023 01:08

That was pretty good . Never heard of Sam but found him quite entertaining. I think Lucy playing thick will wear thin quite quickly .

Umanresources · 22/09/2023 04:30

I recognised Sam from somewhere. We watched him in Bloods, a sitcom with Jane Horrocks about paramedics. Saw both series and it was very hit and miss with the comedy. He was funny though. I'm on the fence with Lucy Beaumont but liking this episode, especially the tin cans! 😂

thebellagio · 22/09/2023 09:47

I really enjoyed that, so much more than last series. I think what made it so enjoyable was how simple the tasks were. Last series they were far too complicated, which is why this one was so joyful. Sue moving the barrier with the ducks was excellent lateral thinking! I was personally expecting someone to pop the duck.....

I think Sue or Julian will win. I did think it hilarious how clearly none of them recognised or knew them when they met up for the first time at the group task!

Mooserp · 22/09/2023 10:19

Lucy - I haven't seen you before

Julian - I know

So awkward, but very funny.

What made me laugh most was Sam's 'can I ask a question' during the live task

thebellagio · 22/09/2023 10:40

I liked how Sam and Julien clearly had no idea who the other was, and was trying to avoid asking the question "who are you?"

That's why I thought it was so funny when Alex piped up, "Julian, Sam, meet Lucy" - clearly he'd clocked that there was no recognition there whatsoever.

But yes, Sam's "can I ask a question" absolutely floored me. As did Gregs' reaction to Lucy saying her legs were like arms

1984Winston · 22/09/2023 11:02

I enjoyed the first episode even though I detest Sue Perkins, the others were funny though

EvilRingahBitch · 22/09/2023 11:04

How can anyone not like Sue Perkins???? The infinite variety of humankind never fails to amaze me.

CwmYoy · 22/09/2023 12:19

MapleSyrupWaffles · 21/09/2023 22:17

Thanks. 😀
