New thread.

I don't like it. It's another brave choice though.

TFMinx · 31/03/2023 21:32

I thought canapés were served whilst milling about waiting to be seated? Happy to be corrected

EsmaCannonball · 31/03/2023 21:32

I wouldn't enjoy eating food and then having to give an opinion to a television crew. It always seems a bit intrusive and awkward.

What a great poem

Yes, they normally are. I suppose they want to make sure a guest doesn't scoff two or three.

I thought that after I'd commented 😆 thanks @EsmaCannonball

Whitney168 · 31/03/2023 21:42

Meh, I’m still not convinced by Avi’s starter - even less impressive when all in plain white bowls.

jay55 · 31/03/2023 21:44

Seeing Alice Oseman there, it's a shame we didn't have a Heartstopper dessert.

Loving Tom's family.

Wolfcub · 31/03/2023 21:48

I've just started the episode so will catch up with the thread later

EsmaCannonball · 31/03/2023 21:51

Hang on, are they serving the pre-dessert as a post-dessert? So much for all the guff about it being a palate-cleanser.

Whitney168 · 31/03/2023 21:51

Awww, no cow gravy jugs either.

i alway think this a bit off in the heats, when you know they won’t replicate the presentation across the whole banquet.

jay55 · 31/03/2023 21:59

Well done to Adam after being runner up all week

EsmaCannonball · 31/03/2023 22:00

The bridesmaid becomes the bride! I'm a pudding person. I would almost definitely be voting for the pudding.

UrsulaPandress · 31/03/2023 22:02

Pleased for Adam.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 31/03/2023 22:04

expecting Adam to be back as a veteran next year

littlbrowndog · 31/03/2023 22:04

Yay Adam Yay all the chefs in tha5 barmy ace to cook

FiveGoMadInDorset · 31/03/2023 22:06

I am thrilled for Adam, have followed from his Masterchef the Professional days, love how supportive he was in the last few days when runner up

Whitney168 · 31/03/2023 22:07

Didn’t love Adam to start with, but he relaxed nicely and seemed a nice bloke. Had a feeling he’d edge it from the reactions.

Morwenna Banks. Stoneybridge! I loved Stoneybridge's bid for the Olympics.

I only found out about this last week.

I don’t think he should be, to be honest. The veteran ought to be more authoritative than the people being judge and frankly, he wouldn’t be. Lorna had no business coming back as a judge after a single win and newly minted with a Michelin star. I’d even question how appropriate Spencer Metzger is despite a star and two wins. The veteran ought to have a bit more pedigree I feel.

PrimroseLane · 01/04/2023 12:18

Gemma and the banana in my mouth, I had tears rolling down my cheeks. Danielle covered her eyes with her hands, so funny.

Andi is the best thing about the programme. I still loathe Adam and didn’t think his dessert deserved to go through. The banquet kitchen in Brighton was ridiculous, I was so cross for the chefs, horrible and tiny with one oven, what a joke. Going off Tom Kerridge, a bit too much ego creeping in, I feel sorry for Nisha stuck next to him.

PrimroseLane · 01/04/2023 12:36

Oh God. Adam is on Saturday Kitchen, make it stop.

AndiOliversFan · 01/04/2023 13:21

Oh dear @PrimroseLane are u alright hun? It’s only a feelgood cooking show!

We watched it just now with DS (6). He loved seeing Cressida Cowell and Axel Schaeffler, I don’t think he had really thought about drawings in his books being created by real people before. He was very confused about the pre-dessert being shifted to after the pudding though. I thought that doing Wensleydale cheese ice cream was inspired! The DC Thomson people were suitably cartoon Scottish (I can say that because I’m Scottish), I liked their Gnasher corsages.

I thought that Nick’s showed the most skill and theatre, but they were all great. Really nice example of team work in the kitchen, great for DS to see.

AndiOliversFan · 01/04/2023 13:24

Oh and interesting fact I just found out- Ed Gamble is a type 1 diabetic. That must make the dessert judging day pretty hard going for him. My close friend is Type 1 so I know that it is no longer the case that diabetics have to avoid sugar, because they can have constant blood sugar monitors and an insulin pump, but it’s still something they have to think about very carefully.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 01/04/2023 21:45

Just caught up. I'm delighted for Adam. The DC Thomson table looked like great fun. They must have been chuffed to be the inspiration for 2 dishes. Andi was fabulous as always.
