Do not know the guest judge but she looks like she is wagging a day off sixth form college. I am getting old.

And yet she still looks older than those waiters. Child labour!

I'd love to go to a banquet. Because the food obviously, but mostly because I'd reallly love to meet Andi. She's amazing. Always loved her on this even back to when she was a judge.

Wolfcub · 23/03/2023 20:15

I love Andi, I remember when that awful royal
Reporter woman was the host

EsmaCannonball · 23/03/2023 20:16

What a shame. This was so good yesterday.

They didn’t like Thom dish. Thom very nervous

EsmaCannonball · 23/03/2023 20:18

Tom without the 'h' seems like someone who might be coming back as a returning judge in the future.

I like the presentation. They are just trying to find something to pick at.

He's very composed, I think he's a strong contender for banquet dish. Also likely we'll see him again, perhaps starting as a cover for the judges that can't eat shellfish?
Thom is likely to appear on a TV near you soon. Probably doing this for exposure - his TikTok has been mentioned a lot and he is an accomplished chef no doubt.

littlbrowndog · 23/03/2023 20:26

I liked it as well

the guest judge hardly eating a thing

She's quite sweet, but she doesn't seem to know much about food or animation.

I've been annoyed by their choice of judges before, for the same reason; they appear to have very limited experience with flavours / textures, and therefore don't want to eat / try anything. Not about physical age, but not having a mature palate. There are some "poncey" things which I would shy away from due to fear of the unknown, but then, I'm not judging food which has to be "better" than Michelin starred.....

Hopefully the mains will be more up her street.

Sunbird24 · 23/03/2023 20:34

Too many cow pies this series

I agree. I found Ange from east Enders particularly annoying on that front

EsmaCannonball · 23/03/2023 20:42

This seems like a pretty close heat.

I assume they must do this deliberately, on the basis that they’re likely to get some fussy gits at the banquet and want to know how they’ll cope with the food?

it is irritating though, and as you say Ange from Eastenders was dreadful.

Wolfcub · 23/03/2023 20:50

I hope he's improved these parsnips

EsmaCannonball · 23/03/2023 20:52

He should have made the waiters wear collars with bells.

OP posts:
littlbrowndog · 23/03/2023 20:52

Oh yes he should

EsmaCannonball · 23/03/2023 20:53

But he's lost the cat bowls, which were the fun part and the connection to the brief.

EsmaCannonball · 23/03/2023 20:56

Poor Thom would have won another week. But glad other Tom got through.

OP posts:
BiliousOhGod · 23/03/2023 20:58

It was good they both got recognition. And yes - in a different region, he'd have won.

littlbrowndog · 23/03/2023 20:59

Both good chefs liked them

jay55 · 24/03/2023 10:07

Which Tom went through? Cow pie?

OnTheBoardwalk · 24/03/2023 22:52

I do like a meal at Mowgli restaurant

was a much better week. Loved the cow pie

bananaman needs to go straight through now

Ducksinthebath · 25/03/2023 07:33

There have been some absolutely shocking regions this year. I wonder if it’s economic conditions forcing better chefs to stay in restaurants rather than taking time out for the show. It’s a real shame for people who have gone out with high scores and people are going through with 7s and 8s. The brief seems to have been a real challenge for people this year which is odd given it’s so wide ranging (and virtually every region seems to have a connection with The Wombles and/or Paddington).
