I really need some tennis to distract me this week. I probably won't actually get to see much!

I have been keeping up with recent events, nothing very exciting happening- hope the lovely Cressy would win this wekedn, but wasn't to be.

Was very with the Dick verdict- and no doubt it will all go unmentioned and the hypocrites in the sport will all continue to fawn over him and welcome him with open arms at all events- Wimbledon included - despite the fact he admitted to the offence.

I am looking forward to Alcaraz coming back- hopefully he will shake things up a bit.

Didn't manage to watch anything- did see that Stan beat Bublik in Rotterdam. Bublik hasd a huge strop in Montpelier and smashed 3 racquets when he lost after having match points- not sure wgat sort of mood he was on yesterday !

Stan was asked about the racquet smashing and - apparently- players get fined not just by tournaments for doing it, but also by some of the manufacturers themselves. Which makes sense, really. It isn't a goid look when a player is destroying their product.

Rafa has withdrawn from Doha/Dubai. Probably IW and Miami too. Totally expected but still sad to have it confirmed

Jane I was score watching at about 1am. Carlos had a bit of a scare, easy first set lost the second. Will be glad to get a win though.

I also saw that Iga had a great start in Doha, back on form- 6-0 6-1 against Collins.

But I haven't managed to watch any properly yet.

I must admit, I wsa pleased to see Carlos had won- I think it's really important for Djok beating purposes that he picks up where he left off.

Probably needs to work on his 'trophy biting' angle.

Good day for the Brits in the Qatar Open. Broady and Murray through in the singles, Evans and O'Mara in the doubles. Although Draper appears to have gone awol!
And Broady is playing doubles tomorrow with Zverev!
Just arrived back from a couple of days in Exeter, visiting DS, so will try to watch some tennis over the next few days.

Off to listen to the tennis podcast and see if I can get my tennis mojo back (come back soon Rafa!). I’m hoping that he might be fit for the clay court season but don’t want him to come back before he’s ready

Haven’t caught any of the recent matches, but great to see Liam and Andy both pick up wins yesterday. They both have pretty tough assignments in the next round though.

Hopefully Carlos continues his winning ways and can challenge Djok for the number 1 ranking. It was really rude how people kept insinuating that he didn’t earn it last year.

DS, DH and I all qualified for the chance to buy Wimbledon tickets in the LTA Advantage ballot, which opened this morning. DS bought 2 Centre Court tickets for the first Saturday and I got 2 No1 Court for the second Mon. Carefully planned to avoid Djok who, as defending Cock champion, should not be playing on those days. DH not bothering to apply, as probably overkill (and expensive)

I also qualified in the ballot! I didn’t spot the email earlier though so by the time I looked most centre court tickets had gone. I’ve got two for Number 1 court in the first Monday though, which were cheaper than the remaining Centre Court options and I will hopefully still see some good people! I’m so excited as I’ve never been before.

I think tickets earlier on in the tournament are probably better as more variety of matches
