Just wanted to start a thread about 'this country' as I honestly find it so hilarious and some episodes make me cry laugh every time!! Kerry and Curtan I love you!! I hardly know anyone else that watches it but IMO it's a gem of British comedy. Not to everyone's taste I understand but definately my sense of humour.

Favourite episodes anyone ?

Mine is probably the one where they are waiting for the vicar at the train station and they get into an arguement and curtan throws Kerry's shoe onto the train just as the doors close 😂😂

Yes! Love it and think it’s massively underrated and brilliantly marries comedy and social commentary. It’s quite like The Office in style so I think some people just find it too cringeworthy. My favourite episode is the one where Kerry ends up in minor injuries and Curtain keeps going on and on about going to TK Maxx. Also love the character of Mandy.

Hooray! a fellow fan! I love it and if anything it's even funnier on a second watch. Daisy May Cooper's book tells the story of how hard it was to get it commissioned and it's a really interesting read. I LOVE Big Mandy and her crap tattoos!

I should be in tk maxx getting the bargains I deserve

a gem of a show

lucya66 · 10/02/2023 19:17

I’ve seen it loads. Love it! So funny.

I like when Mandy’s reading her story in book club!

FER-LAFF-ELL!

DelorisVC · 10/02/2023 19:18

I wish they'd do another series.
I think I'll have to rewatch them because I've forgotten loads.

It's my childhood, she went to the other big secondary in the area (back then). It makes me nostalgic and it is so accurate it's disturbing in places. The people and life portrayed is spot on. Brilliant writing. I would also recommend The Witchfinder with Daisy May, she's brilliant in it.

SorrelForbes · 10/02/2023 19:23

Absolutely love it!
"KERRY, WHAT? KERRY, WHAT?!"

SquashPenguin · 10/02/2023 19:26

whereaw · 10/02/2023 19:28

I almost never watch something more than once... but I've seen this a few times!
Hilarious. And very clever.

Vicar! You can't park there!
Like a breadstick in a blender.
Scarecrow day, hands down the best day of the year.
Can't somebody else do it??
I don't do little ones I only does massive ones.
Kerry looks thick but she's not as thick as she looks, and Kurtis looks thick, and he is thick ...
I've had your gramps on the phone in tears, you didn't thank him for those computers for schools vouchers....
plumming on here plumming on that...

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 10/02/2023 19:38

her Dad being a ‘peeper’
